they had a couple of nice things to say about me now that the rumor that I had been murdered was circulating. They all seemed somewhat disappointed at the news that it probably hadn’t been Harold who’d killed me. Apparently, they liked Harold even less than they’d liked me.
    So in death, I’d finally managed to get a little respect and sympathy from the Mudbug women. Better too late than never, I suppose.
    When I left the beauty shop, I saw Maryse and Luc across the street, and it didn’t take a paranormal experience to know how they’d spent their afternoon. I was pleased that Maryse had taken my words to heart. She had a great life ahead of her.
    I’d give her another day to enjoy it before I pushed her to start investigating again.
