say and stand. I ’ m dead tired. I might be hung
over. I can ’ t get Jade out
of my damn mind. “ She
wanted me to fuck her. Some guy that wanted her busted in the bathroom and hit
me. Then I had three guys ready to beat me up. What was I supposed to do? I
defended myself. I didn ’ t
kill anyone. I didn ’ t go
too far. I handled my business. The second an officer grabbed my arm, I
stopped. I went with the situation. I could have fought and ran. ”
    “ How
noble, ” Thomas growls. “ How fucking noble, Jake. ” Now he stood. Eyes on fire.
So tough with a table between
us.
    “ You
put …”
“ Thomas, ” the lawyer says. “ Let ’ s try to stay calm. There ’ s a good case here. We will be okay. I just needed
to hear Jake ’ s side. So … he was approached by a woman.
They decided to go into the bathroom and enjoy each other ’ s company. Completely
consensual, correct? ”
I look at the lawyer. “ Her pussy was dripping. She
wanted me. ”
The lawyer puckers his lips and
sighs. “ Okay then. As they … are together … the door opens and three men
come into the bathroom. The leader has feelings for the woman and a fight
ensues. The other two men attack, correct? ”
“ Yeah, ” I say. “ They were trying to hold me so the other guy could
beat the shit out of me. ”
    The lawyer nods, writes something
down. “ You defend yourself
against the other two men. Then what? ”
    “ The
first guy wasn ’ t done. I
was still in the bathroom with no escape. We started to wrestle and left the
bathroom together. Tangled up. We fought, I won, and then I was arrested. ”
    “ Okay,
okay. Great information. ” The lawyer puts the pen down. He folds his hands. “ Good news is that so far it seems to be just a bar
fight. I can ’ t control the
press and their take on it. I have some calls to try and shake up the bigger
sites and whatnot to keep the story out of the press. Not sure how it ’ ll work. Our process now is
going to wait and then respond if we need to. We can write something up how it
was three against one. That doesn ’ t
justify fighting, but Jake was defending himself. Another good part is that
Jake was not driving. ”
    “ I
took a cab from a friend ’ s
house to the bar, ” I say.
“ Perfect, ” the lawyer says. He stands up,
closes his leather folder. “ I
think we ’ ll be okay. ”
    The meeting seems very pointless.
Thomas shakes the lawyer ’ s hand and the guy leaves.
But something tells me we ’ re not done yet.
The door opens again and here comes
Hunter.
He shuts the door and blocks it.
Thomas slowly walks the length of
the table and then stands next to Hunter.
    “ What
the fuck is this? ” I ask.
    “ Your
phone call, ” Thomas says. “ Your ride home. My daughter. ”
    “ My
girlfriend, ” Hunter says.
Yeah, that hurts. That burns a
little inside my gut.
    “ I
didn ’ t know who else to
call. ”
    “ You
got her up in the middle of the night for your bullshit, ” Hunter growls. “ You
put her in danger. ”
    “ She
was not in danger, ” I say. “ At all. ”
    “ There
were press, ” Hunter says. “ She had to drive you around.
Stay the fuck away from her, Jake. Keep this family out of your personal life.
You want to destroy yourself? Do it on your time. ”
I make fists and suck in a breath.
I look at Thomas. “ Anything
else? ”
    “ Don ’ t bring my daughter down, ” Thomas says. “ I ’ m
married to your mother. I ’ m
not committed to you, Jake. You want to leave …”
    “ You
took all my money, ” I say.
    “ Get
a fucking job, ” Hunter
spats.
    “ Oh,
I ’ m sorry, ” I say. “ You haven ’ t
had everything handed to you? ”
“ Jake, ” Thomas growls. “ Hunter has worked very hard. ”
    “ Sucking
on your ass, ” I say. “ Now move out of the fucking way. ”
I approach Hunter. He doesn ’ t move. He ’ s blocking the door. My hand is
curled into a fist. I really want to punch him.
    “ Move, ” I say. “
