Caging the Bengal Tiger
Abby said closing the door. "Isaac, you better tell Akaos’ men to stay outside, because otherwise...well it's not going to be pretty."
"Hmm, well unless a few of them want to volunteer for the three days. Oh, and Isaac so help me God, if you three don't step up, I'm going to find me three others." She snarled and squirmed in her seat.
"Finish eating and there will be no others. We'll be ready." He looked to Anthony, then to Dan. "Maybe we should wait till after her heat to talk with your folks?" Isaac glanced at Lacey and she was shaking her head.
"No. His folks have been waiting to see him. I have two days till it starts. I'll be fine. But we really need to finish the bonding process, Isaac." She looked over at her side where Lan and his weru were talking with Abby while she ate at the bar.
"I get really bad, Isaac. Maya had to lock me up last time." She took a quick glance at Dan, then back down at her plate.
"Wait, that was you screaming, wasn't it?" Dan leaned over looking at her, and she nodded.
"My cat smelled you that day. I was never so happy to be locked up. I was so afraid I would have hurt you, Dan. By the time Maya had gotten you to leave, I'd destroyed everything in the room I was locked in. Maybe my cat knew you were mine then, but now that we've started the bonding, there won't be any holding me back." She looked at him. "Sorry, looks like even after the change we still go into the cycle. You might want to inform Akaos..." her eyes got big and she jumped up. "Abby, Maya!"
Her friend’s eyes got big. "Shit!"
"What's wrong?" He stood and reached for Lacey.
"Maya is starting today. No wonder she was all prissy. Call your brother now," Lacey said and gripped his arm. "Have the children taken to Dee's. Even though she's pregnant, she'll still have all the symptoms. Our bodies do not stop the sexual tension and hormones."
He turned away from her, opening the link to his brother. " Akaos! " he waited looking over at Anthony and shaking his head.
" What? I'm busy here, " his brother snapped.
" Maya is going into her heat cycle. Get the kids to Dee's," he said.
" Already there and we figured it out the hard way. Got to go," he cut the link, but not before the picture flashed in his head. Maya on top of Warden, her hands tied together and above her.
"Lacey, will there be a problem with the cat when you go into your cycle?" he turned and she nodded while stuffing the last piece of her meal in her mouth.
"Yes, you'll have to make sure my hands are bound. If they are, the cat cannot come out. She'll want you to mate with me in her form and it's too dangerous for that."
Clearing away her plates, Lacey dragged over the papers and for the next hour she and Dan made notes. After every piece of paper was checked and rechecked they had ten new addresses to work with and three credit cards to investigate. They were lucky in that department since Anthony had two men that could crack into any of the humans’ computer systems.
Standing, Isaac stretched and held out his hand. "Come, it's time to head back to your quarters."

Chapter Eight

Gathering her papers and notebook, Lacey placed her hand in Isaac's. One thing was for sure, he was always the gentleman. He always had his hair pulled back and braided, but what had caught her attention first were his eyes.
When he turned those dark red things on her, it seemed as if he was reaching down into her soul and caressing it. She shivered and looked down at her slippers for a minute before taking a side glimpse of Isaac. Hmmm, what would it take to get a man like him all hot and bothered, because he sure could do it to me? Lacey nibbled at her lip quickly she looked down at the ground again not wanting him to catch her looking. But when he stopped all of a sudden she almost ran right into him. When she looked up, his gaze captured hers. Lacey thought for sure she'd melt right there on the spot the way he turned up the heat on her body.
