reason she’d chosen the navy shorts and blue shirt. Thoughts of the kiss brought her body to attention. Her breasts tightened and moisture dampened her panties. She glanced at her watch. Three minutes to seven. She hurried to the sliding doors and unlocked them. She stepped onto the balcony. Would he be wearing those black silk pants he’d worn the first time she’d seen him. She walked to the railing. He wore shorts and a tee shirt rather like the ones he’d worn for their first kiss.
He looked up. “Will you join me?”
“Yes.” Their gazes meshed. Her body pulsed with desire.
“Then come on down.”
She blew a kiss. “On my way.”
After locking the balcony door she slipped the key in her case. Though she didn’t think she would need it, having an option was good. With the overnight case in one hand and the vase of roses in the other she left Steve’s apartment and walked downstairs. Her heart raced. Her body tingled. She paused outside the door of Greg’s apartment and pressed the buzzer with her elbow.
Greg opened the door. “I’m glad you’re here.”
She placed the vase on a small table just inside the door and set her case on the floor. She stepped into his arms. When his mouth met hers she slid her arms around his neck. Her mouth opened. Their tongues dueled. He ran his hands over her back. As the kiss deepened he pressed her against his groin.’
“I want you,” she said.
He thrust his leg between hers. He groaned. “Didn’t mean to go so fast.”
She moaned. “Slow seems wrong.” She slid her hands beneath his shirt and stroked his back.
He backed toward the couch and sank into the cushions pulling her atop him. She edged his shirt toward his head. His nipples beaded beneath her assault.
“We need to slow down,” he said.
“How? Why?”
“Damned if I know.” He shifted position and stretched out on the couch. She moved until she sat on his thighs. “I’ve missed you.” He slid his hands beneath her shirt.
She drew a deep breath laden with his scent. “Since I stormed away you’ve been a constant in my thoughts.” She leaned forward and stroked his chest. “What about this dinner you invited me to share?”
“Later.” He pulled her shirt over her head. “Roses. Great minds.” He thumbed the centers of the flowers painted on her bra.
Spirals of heat spread from his touch. “We need to talk,” she said.
“We will.” He pulled her against his chest. “I need you. I need to be inside and hear you cry my name.” He ran his tongue over her lips. “Open for me.”
She did. His tongue laved her mouth, thrust and retreated. She matched him stroke for stroke and rocked against him. He caressed her denim covered thighs. “Greg.” She murmured his name against his mouth.
She pulled free and rose. On the coffee table she saw a pile of condoms. She grabbed one and opened the foil. When she turned back to the couch he’d stripped. She deftly sheathed him and pulled off the rest of her clothes.
He rose and caught her in his arms. “I need you.” He lowered her to the plush carpet.
“I desire you.” As he slid home she released a deep sigh. “This feels so right.”
“Sure does.” He leaned forward and kissed her.
He began a slow dance on her body. She wrapped her legs around his hips. His strokes were smooth and even. Pressure built as the tempo of their movements quickened.
The burn began. Allie dug her nails into his shoulders. He slid his arms around her as though trying to fuse their bodies into a single unit. Her cries grew louder. His guttural sounds formed a foundation form those pouring from her throat. She ignited. Her body tensed and waves of fire sent her aglow.
“Now, now.” She pressed her heels into his buttocks pulling him tighter.
“Mine,” Greg roared.
“Mine.” Her inner muscles pumped his shaft. He gave a low cry and collapsed atop her.
For a time they clung to each other. Their gasping breaths slowed. Allie stroked his
