nodded, some of her smile fading. “I am. A daddy’s girl, I’m afraid.”
I maintained my smile, but inside I was cussing. Daddy’s girls meant an overprotective male parent who would judge the fuck out of any man in his princess’ life, therefore causing a living hell for the dating scene. But it also normally meant that the princess in question was just waiting to let loose, to break free of the innocent ties. All daddy’s girls wanted to be wild little vixens when it came right down to it… they just didn’t want to get caught. I could deal with that; there was nothing I liked more than the untapped potential of a sexually pent-up wild thing bouncing on the end of my cock.
    “Is that a problem?”
I looked up to see Lucia staring at me, a smile playing around her lips.
“What? No, why would it be? I can handle you,” I said with a sly wink.
“I imagine you could,” she said softly, pushing away from the railing. “So? Do you think you are going to buy this house?”
“Do you think I should?” I asked, really wanting her opinion. I knew nothing about buying a house; my last residence was a rented townhouse provided by my old team.
“I think it’s a perfectly wonderful place,” Lucia replied. “Maybe a bit big for just you? But the brochure says it has a good school district.”
Laughing, I pushed away from the wall and followed her back into the bedroom to view the bathroom. I hoped I didn’t have to worry about that for a good long while. Not that I didn’t want kids one day—I did, just not yet. I still had plenty of wild oats that needed to be sowed.
The bathroom was just as impressive as the rest of the house, with a waterfall shower and a standalone tub that was positioned near the floor-to-ceiling windows. “Yeah, I think you should buy it just for the bathroom,” she laughed, running her hand over the rim of the bathtub. “Screw the school district.”
“If I do buy this house,” I said, reaching out to cover her hand with mine. “Will you take a bath with me in that tub? I can’t think of anything better than you all naked, wet and soapy.”
She looked up and her lips parted, a breathy sigh coming out of her mouth. “There you go again,” she said with an amused but surprised shake of her head. I noted that she didn’t exactly say no, though. One mark in the she’s fucking crazy for me category.
“It’s what I do best,” I answered, my thumb caressing the top of her hand lightly, my body increasingly invading her space. I could feel her hot breath coming out in rapid waves—I almost had her, just needed to reel her in. “So Doc, what do you think? I’m dying to see what’s under that dress of yours.”

W hat did I think ? What the fuck did I think? I was thinking all kinds of crazy, convoluted things about him, his innuendos, and his blatant suggestions. I was thinking about how wrong this all should be, but how right it really felt. I was thinking that I was torn between kissing him and running screaming in the other direction. I was thinking how fucking delicious the shock on his face would be if I let my sundress slip off my body and pool around my ankles in front of him. How good it would feel to get in that tub and let his hands run over my slippery body.
“I think,” I started, swallowing hard, “there’s no way we will both fit into that bathtub together.”
His wolfish smile made me go weak in the knees as he leaned closer. “I would love to prove you wrong, Doc.”
“Mr. Maddox, what do you think? Are you ready to sign on the dotted line tonight?”
I let out a pent-up breath as Jacob winked at me before turning around to address the realtor, who was hovering in the open doorway. “I think you have a deal. One condition, though. I want to move in immediately.”
“I’m sure we can get you in by the end of the week,” the realtor replied with a slight smile now, already pulling out her phone. “I’m sure the owners—”
