the office, my eyes went straight to my desk and heat infused my cheeks. Recalling how I was sprawled on my desk with Max licking me, I suddenly felt the twinge of pleasure right between my legs. How just the thought of him made me feel aroused like that was beyond me. Max said I would think about what he had done to me every time I saw my desk, and he was right.
After I greeted my co-workers, I checked my agenda and emails. The buzzing from my work phone snapped me out of my concentration on the layout on the screen. I was just about to approve by clicking on the format of page ten for Knight Magazine.
“This is Jenna Mefferd,” I answered without looking at the caller ID.
“It won’t be Jenna Mefferd soon. You’re better off calling yourself Mrs. Knight. You might as well get used to it.”
“Max.” I lowered my voice, trying not to catch anyone’s attention. With the phone resting between my shoulder and ear, I refocused on the screen. “How can I help you?” I sounded way too formal, but I was at work after all.
“I know how you can help me.” His tone came out way too flirty.
He’d gotten my attention for sure. Smiling, I said, “Really? And what is it that you need?”
“Are you sitting in your seat?”
“Yes,” I answered, clicking away. I had a deadline to meet and Max was being a huge distraction.
“Did you think of me when you walked into your office and saw your desk?”
“Yes.” I started to feel hot and flushed, recalling how good he’d made me feel.
    “Good. Then I know—”
“Actually, I think I forgot.” I intervened before he could finish. I wanted to say something he would not expect. That got his attention big time. His ego must have deflated because he was silent for a second, probably contemplating whether I was teasing or being serious. I couldn’t help but smile knowing that I had stumped him a little.
“Really? ” He sounded quite surprised. “I’ll help you remember tonight.”
He didn’t have to tell me that ; I already felt tingles down to my clit from his words. His flirty, sexy tone always got to me and made me feel like I was in his arms.
“I’ll see you tonight, Mr. Knight.” With that I got back to work, but how was I supposed to work when all I could do was think of what Max had done to me on my desk? When I heard a sound, I looked up. I didn’t recognize the woman standing in front of me, so I glanced at Matthew, who’d just walked back into the office after a meeting, then back at her. Matthew shrugged his shoulders. He had no idea why she was there. Seeing a nametag on her shirt and a box of something indicated she was there to deliver something to me.
“Hello. May I help you?” I asked.
“Are you Ms. Mefferd? Soon to be Mrs. Knight?”
I smiled at her words. Max was up to something. He’d probably told her to ask that question. “Yes, that’s me.”
She handed me a box with a blue and pi nk ribbon tied neatly into a bow. “I’m from Café Express. I was told to deliver this to you.”
I reached into my wallet and handed her a tip. “Thank you so much.” After she walked out the door, I opened it. Inside of the box were some salted crackers, a heart shaped Rice Krispy Treat, and a pink cookie that read, ‘Maybe a girl?’ and a blue cookie that read, ‘Maybe a boy?’. Happy tears dampened my eyes. I wiped them away quickly before they could fall. Max filled my heart with joy and made me feel so light, like I could levitate off the ground from being so happy. He was too good to be true.
Seeing that there was a note inside, I took it out to read it.

    Jenna,
The crackers will help ease the queasy stomach. Make sure to eat a little throughout the day, and also drink a lot of water. Whether a boy or a girl, I promise to love our child and I promise to be the best father and husband.

    TKLS,
    Max

    Jenna
Since our schedule didn’t allow us to have dinner together and Max was coming home after me, I grabbed a quick bite
