wanted to hit someone so much in my life, and I fight for a fucking living.
When everyone finishes eating we unfortunately have to head back to the limo that's waiting out in front of the hotel where it dropped us off. In just a few minutes we'll be back at Coach's house and I'll have to pull my shit together so he won't know I've been with his daughter.
So many times I lost count.
Which reminds me of how I ended up here with her to begin with. I make a quick pit stop in the bathroom to straighten up my formal wear in the mirror, trying to make it look like it hasn't spent the majority of the night on the hotel floor rather than on me before we leave.
Once we climb into the limo, it pulls away from the hotel, all of us looking half dead. Unlike the last time we were in here, Sadie is curled up against my side and my arms are around her, my head resting on hers. It's surprising how much has changed between us in just a few hours. In a way I feel like I've been sucker punched, blindsided by how goddamn right it feels to be with this girl I've simultaneously known forever but has been hiding the whole time. Until last night.
I feel like a prick for never noticing her until her extreme makeover, but now, it wouldn’t matter if she goes back to the brown, curly hair, thick glasses, and baggy clothes. I'd still see her . The way her beautiful smile lights up her face. The way she looks at me with those gorgeous emerald eyes like I'm responsible for world peace and curing cancer. The sweet sound of her giggles. And there's no way I can ever forget the familiar shiver every time she says my name with more warmth and reverence than anyone else ever has.
When the limo comes to a stop, I figure we've arrived at our destination, Coach's house, but nope. We're sitting in the mostly empty parking lot of a twenty-four hour pharmacy.
"I'll be right back," Sadie says before easing out of my arms.
What the fuck? Is she sick or something?
I jump out after her, but she turns around and tries to stop me.
    "You can just wait here."
"No, I'm coming with you," I insist.
Sadie opens her mouth and then closes it like she's going to argue some more, but finally bites her bottom lip and heads for the entrance.
"Did you ask the driver to stop here?" I question her when we walk through the sliding glass doors.
    "Uh-huh."
"Why?" I ask. "Are you okay?"
"Just...please don't be pissed," she says, rounding the corner of the family planning aisle.
"Why would I be pissed?" I ask in confusion. Then she grabs a box off the shelf. One that says, Plan B One-Step Emergency Contraception .
    Oh dear God.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me," I mutter as I stare at the box. Sadie turns and walks away toward the register, leaving me paralyzed in the damn "family planning" aisle. I just wanted to lose my virginity, I didn't want to start a fucking family with a girl that hasn't even graduated from high school yet!
"Sadie, wait a second!" I yell, catching up with her. She stops but doesn't turn around, so I spin her by her shoulders until she's facing me. "What the hell were you thinking? You should've stopped me instead of letting me wrongly assume that you were on birth control!"
"I didn't want you to stop," she says softly, looking at the ground instead of me.
I jerk the box from her hands and read the back of it. "It's only ninety-five percent effective!" I exclaim, my voice sounding oddly higher than normal. "There's a five fucking percent chance I just knocked you up!"
"I'm not...my period is due any day, so I won't...this is just to make sure."
"Goddamn it, Sadie!" I'm so pissed I can't even see straight. I take the damn box up to the register, figuring paying for it is the least I can do if it's my only chance of not having a bastard child. This is what I get for losing my virginity to a fucking teenager.
I cringe when I realize I said that last part aloud. Sadie walks out the
