without ever having experienced anything like it. Not just warmth. Not just peace. Her bones were evaporating under his touch. Her muscles were like liquid, her legs still stretched out along the outsides of his thighs, absorbing his strength and heat.
His hands slipped down, kneading the flesh of her ass, causing heat to pool between her thighs. The hardness of his erection strained against her core.
    “Up,” she murmured.
    “Humh?”
    “Hands back up.”
He groaned, a rumbling vibration beneath her.
“You sound like some boy being told he has to walk his baby sister to ballet class and carry her tutu. It’s sad.”
“It is sad. Do you know how much I want to be inside you?”
She rolled her eyes beneath her closed lids.
    “Just try to restrain yourself.”
“Restraint is all you’ve seen from me.”
She snorted. “Obviously we have different definitions of the word.”
“You people just don’t know how controlled I’ve been.” He growled, pushing his hips up against her, his penis rubbing a spot near her navel that made her inner walls swell and throb. Her fingers sank into his shoulder muscles as she fought to control the sharp arousal that was causing the peace to forsake her for these more intense sensations.
“I’m not having sex with you,” she stated, a partial admonishment to herself.
He relaxed beneath her, sighing deeply. She liked the feel of being lifted and lowered as he inhaled and exhaled.
“Go back to sleep,” he ordered. “I’m tired of talking to you.”
Against all good sense, she did.
Sabrina woke to sound. A persistent knock, a shower running. She lifted her head. The room was deep in shadow, the only light coming from the half-open bathroom door to her left and a small night-light near the bedroom door. There were no windows in this room, but of course there wouldn’t be with the room being buried in the earth.
She sat up, relieved to see she was still wearing clothes. She moved her hips experimentally. Her body confirmed she hadn’t been violated while she slept. She wasn’t disappointed. But, that sex-starved part of her mind whispered, he would’ve given you release. When was the last time a man gave you sexual pleasure? It’s amazing, she thought, sitting up and leaning back against the headboard, knees drawn to her chest. Zeus really did have some restraint. All the insanity he’d oozed had made her believe he wasn’t capable of it.
She didn’t trust anyone else with her well-being. Hell, she barely trusted herself when it came to men, but Zeus hadn’t harmed her. He’d actually done the near impossible and aroused her. When he’d pressed into… She flung back the comforter and sheet and launched herself from the bed as if it was responsible for her crazy thoughts, her body’s arousal.
She opened the door to Mama balancing a tray as she prepared to knock again.
“I hope you’re not vegetarian,” she said, her face tense.
“No, the amount of meat I consume doesn’t allow me to call myself a vegetarian.”
“Oh, thank God,” Mama exclaimed, shoulders sagging in relief. “Not that there’s anything wrong with vegetarianism, but with this brood, I wouldn’t put it past them to carve me up and roast me alive if I tried to make a meal that didn’t include at least two kinds of meat.”
“Here, let me take that,” Sabrina said, reaching for the tray that held two plates, each filled with scrambled eggs, a chopped avocado-tomato mix, bacon, a thick slice of ham, wheat toast, and two bowls of steaming grits with a whole layer of melted butter floating on top. Silverware, napkins, salt, and pepper sat next to small glasses of orange juice.
Wow . The aroma and sheer volume of food made Sabrina’s stomach grumble indelicately.
“You, uh, you wouldn’t happen to have seen Zeus?” Mama asked as the tray changed hands. Sabrina nodded toward the bathroom door.
    “He’s in the shower.”
Sabrina walked over to the table near the bed’s
