would say – bloody fantastic!” she laughed.
“ Happy to please, little one, happy to please,” he chuckled.
She cuddled up to him, took a deep breath and said the most unexpected thing he could think of. “Thank you, Zach.”
“What?” he asked confused.
“ I said thank you. Thank you for making me feel the most beautiful woman alive. Thank you for taking my mind off of everything else. Thank you for showing me what making love should be like.”
She was amazed at herself and how honest she had just been with him. It was not like her to talk of her feelings.
“Well my little Scots lass, that was only round one.” He chuckled and pulled her on top of him and started to show her, again, just what things should be like. When round two was over she was exhausted and sore in places she didn’t know she could be sore.

The second time they made love it was even harder for Zach to keep his fangs under control. He was so pulled towards her neck and that little spot that pulsed just under her skin. His need to taste her was overwhelming and he didn’t know how long he could stop himself from doing so.
He decided that as soon as he could he would have to talk to her and see if she was open to allowing him to taste her blood. It wasn’t as simple as that though, because he knew that once he did he could never let her go. She would have to understand that before he would go to that next level with her.
She was more than he had ever expected, more than he had hoped to ever find. He knew others who had bonded and he was happy for them. He just never thought he would find anyone who he could envisage spending the rest of his eternity with. Was Alexina the one? In his mind the answer was yes. He just had to convince her.

Alex fell asleep in Zach’s arms and she couldn’t think of anywhere else she would rather be. Could this be love?
She only hoped that he had been telling her the truth and that tomorrow, or the next day or the next, he didn’t decide that this had just been a fling. She didn’t know if she could cope with that.
At that thought, she realised that even if he didn’t love her, she certainly loved him. The swiftness of this took her breath away but for once she was going to take a chance and see where this took her.
Alex awoke some time later to the smell of freshly made coffee. She realised Zach was not next to her and for a second had a bolt of fear go through her. Fear that he had left and couldn’t face her after what they had done.
She slowly got up, looked for her mother's necklace and put it on, then found a large terry robe lying on the end of the bed. She put it on and it drowned her, however, she didn’t want to get dressed yet and badly wanted a coffee, so hiked it up and walked through to the kitchen. Zach was on the phone when she got there and could only hear his side of the conversation.
She noticed the coffee pot and got a cup and poured herself one. “A pendant? What is it like? How important is it? Oh I see – okay I’ll ask Alexina and get back to you. Okay, we will be over in about and hour. Bye.” He disconnected the call and smiled over at Alex. “Hi beautiful, how are you feeling?” His smile was radiant as he spoke.
Beautiful? He just called her beautiful. A wave of relief swept through her. “Well Mr Vampire, I am just dandy. How’s about you?” she laughed over at him.
“ I can honestly say – I have never felt better in my considerably long life.” He smiled at her and walked over, with a definite swagger.
Alex gulped her coffee down. “I think I’m going to need this caffeine,” she giggled.
“Oh I think you will,” he replied.
Just as he reached her he noticed the necklace around her neck. “That necklace, where did you get it?”
She reached up and touched it and replied “It was my mother’s, she gave it to me the night she died. Why?”
Zach gave a huge sigh of relief and this was a tad confusing to Alex, so she waited on
