eyes furious.
“I got it at the cinema. It was too good to pass up.”
“What are you… fifteen? Posters of other men do not belong in our marital bedroom. Staring at our fucking bed.”
“Fine,” I sigh and climb out of bed before heading into the living room. I hear him call me, asking where I’m going but I ignore him as I head to the study where the photo albums are kept. I pull a dark red leather bound book out and stark flicking through it. Grabbing the scissors I cut out the perfect sized eyes. I grab the glue, head back into our room where James is still stood staring at the offensive poster. “I’m back.” I grin and begin sticking the eyes to the poster. Once they’re on I turn to my husband. “There you go. Now only you can see our bed.”
“Did you just stick my eyes…”
         “Yep.”
         “Are you crazy?”
         “Yep.”
         “That’s not what I meant.”
I yawn and climb into bed after placing the glue on the bedside table. “Yep.”
“Little breaths James. Little breaths,” I hear him grumble as he slides in next to me. I don’t know why he doesn’t just rip the poster down. This must be his way of succumbing to my every whim for fucking up.
I giggle a little and snuggle into his chest. “You called me crazy yet you’re talking to yourself.”
“I’m soothing myself.” He grumbles like a petulant child but relaxes under my body.
“Allow me,” I wag my eyebrows and wrap my hand around him. He tenses and his breath hitches before stopping completely. “Let me soothe you baby.”
“Long straw, totally got the long straw.”

I still feel bad for saying we should get a divorce and for being such a bitch since our engagement. If I wasn’t trying before I certainly am now. First thing this morning I called in a few favors with a few special acquaintances I have in the city. After finding out the name of the foster home James and his brother shared I now have the best people in the city working on finding his brother and other living relatives. I haven’t told him though, I don’t want him to think I’m meddling.
It’s annoying as hell when you want to make someone other than yourself happy.

So, its noon, and I’m stood outside my husband’s office three days after our lovemaking session holding a bag full of deli bagels and donuts and two coffees. I open the door, already knowing he’s alone, thanks to Carlson and smile at the shocked look on his face when he sees me. I hold up the brown paper deli bags and the coffees. He surprises me by grinning broadly and patting his lap.
“I’ll call you back Smith,” he says into the phone and hangs up. “Well, isn’t this a surprise.”
I roll my eyes and place the food and drink onto the desk. “I just thought you might be hungry. You skipped breakfast.”
“I’m starving,” he grins and pulls me onto his lap, his hand going straight for my breast. “What did you bring me?”
I open the bag and hand him his bagel before opening my own, “its ham and cream cheese.”
         “My favorite.”
“Your favorite is a McDonald’s bagel with sausage, egg and cheese.”
“How do you know that?” he almost chokes on his bite. I resist the urge to roll my eyes again. “Because it’s my favorite too. And whenever my dad would get me one on the way to work he’d get you one too.”
“So he did,” he grins and kisses my cheek before taking another bite. A tiny bit of cream cheese sits at the corner of his mouth. Without thinking I wipe it off with my thumb and suck my thumb into my mouth. His eyes become heated and intense, his hand tightens on my breast then he shocks me by doing nothing more than kissing my nose. It’s all sickly sweet and affectionate. What the hell has happened to
