forehead, she jumped and started screaming.
The nurse came in and put something in her IV that calmed her down. She explained to him that she was still traumatized from the incident and not to take it personal. He told her he understood, Neicey whispered with low eyes, “Don’t leave me Kamil,” before she went back to sleep.
Kamil looked for her phone and went through her contacts until he came across Micah’s name. He called and informed him about what was going on.
Lani, Mykell, and Micah all rushed into the emergency room. Mykell ran to the nurse ’s desk and asked if they had a Reneice Peak.
“She’s in room 201.” they were informed, as they all took off in search of Neicey.
When they got to her room, everybody but Micah was taken back that she already had a visitor. He was sitting in a chair next to her bed, holding her hand and running his fingers through her hair. Mykell wanted to know who this nigga was that was acting like Neicey was his girl. Always being the level headed one, Mica h went up to Kamil and shook his hand and thanked him for calling.
“Thanks for calling me man, I really appreciate it.”
“No problem, she talks about you all the time and I didn’t knew who else to call.”
What the fuck he mean ‘all the time ’, Mykell thought.
“Yo, who are you?” he angrily asked.
Kamil looked at Mykell unfazed and replied, “I’m a friend.”
T hen looked at Reneice, “A very good friend.”
Something about the way he said a very good friend struck a nerve with Mykell.
“Well I’m her fiancé, so you can go ahead and leave now.” he said mugging Kamil.
“Nah,” Kamil said defiantly. “She asked me not to leave her so I’ma do just that.”
Sensing something about to pop off, Lani spoke up. She remembered him from the club awhile back so she formally introduced herself. “Hi, I’m Le’Lani.”
“Hey Le’Lani, she talks about you all the time but I’m Kamil.”
“Kamil, let me holler at you in the hallway for a minute,” Micah spoke.
Mykell’s mug never left his face as Kamil and Micah left the room.
“I know who you are and I know you care for her. She told me about you and I know you respect her relationship, but that knuckle head in there is just threatened. So I think you should let us take it from here and you come back in the morning. So that way it won’t be any problems.”
Kamil thought about it for a moment, and he agreed.

    Chapter 9

The next morning, Kamil got up bright and early to go see Reneice. When he got there she was sitting up in her bed watching Jerry Springer.
“Don’t let me catch you on that show,” he said jokingly.
She smiled even though her lips were swollen, “Hey Boss Man, I mean if I still can call you that.”
“Why wouldn’t you be able to call me that? You been doing it for two years knucklehead.” He said kissing her forehead.
At that moment Mykell walked into the room. He cleared his throat to get their attention. It was something about this dude he didn’t like.
“Hey baby, how you feel?” he asked walking further into the room.
Reneice sighed and said “I feel exactly how I look, like shit. I’m just ready to get out of here so I can get back to work.”
“ Uhn uhn, knucklehead what did I tell you yesterday?" Kamil asked sternly.
“I know Boss Man, but I’ma need something to keep my mind off what happened. Plus I need to work as much as I can before I get too big.”
Kamil looked down at the mention of her being pregnant. She was so out of it yesterday that she didn't hear when the doctors said she had suffered a miscarriage.
She picked up on his sudden mood change and looked from him to Mykell.  All Mykell could do was look away.
“ Naw, y’all don't do that. Don’t tell me I lost my baby. Mykell please tell me I didn’t lose my baby. Whoever did this to me was looking for you, they didn’t have to kill my baby!” she began to cry.
“What you talking about baby? What you mean they
