around my waist and pulled me in tightly against his chest. He caught me by surprise and I stumbled, grabbing onto his impressive biceps. Shit, he was huge. I could feel every ripple of muscle through his shirt, and I felt so tiny in his embrace. “I’ll be back before dinner, Sierra. I’ll see you then, naked, remember ?” he whispered the last part, so only I could hear. “I’ll be waiting for you.” Ever so gently, he brushed his lips against mine, running his tongue over my bottom lip before pulling me in for a deep, wet kiss.
He walked away, slamming the door shut without a backward glance. Only then did I realise I was still holding my breath.

With her hands on her hips, Lorena spun around and warned me, “Do not think you can worm your way in here and take over. I am the only woman in this house and that is how it’s going to stay. I’ve got my father wrapped around my little finger,” she smirked. “As long as you remember that, we will get on just fine.”
As much as I wanted to tell the spoilt little bitch to fuck off, I didn’t. No way did I want to argue with her. “Yes, Lorena,” I answered calmly. “I know you come first; you are his daughter, after all. I’m just a…um…his…um— ”
    “Mistress?” she suggested.
“I suppose,” I responded in a quiet voice, thankful she didn’t call me his whore. I think I’ve been called that one too many times today already.
“Mmm…you don’t sound too sure of that,” she questioned. “Can I tell you something, but you’ve got to promise not to tell my father I told you?
“Sure, go ahead,” I said. So far, this day had been full of surprises. I was sure what she had to tell me wouldn’t shock me.
“First of all, you must be fully aware of who my father is and what his business entails, right?”
    “Yes, I am, but—”
“Shut up and let me finish,” she cut me off very quickly. “So, you have no qualms about living here and being witness to all sorts of…how can I phrase it? Witness to my father’s business dealings? Or shenanigans would be a better word to use.”
I nodded in agreement. “I’ve told you I understand this life; I just need time to get used to it, that’s all.”
“Honey, you will never get used to this life. You just learn to live with it. It won’t take long, trust me. The other thing I had to tell you was my father has never had a mistress before. And he sure as hell has never allowed any woman to sleep over.”
“What? You’ve got to be kidding me. No way! I mean, when I arrived, I walked in on him and some woman in his office…” I stopped myself. Why was I divulging information to his daughter? Shit, I better keep my mouth shut. I’ll never learn.
“Exactly, she was just some random woman . You obviously aren’t.” Lorena almost made it sound like I was special, but I knew better. I was being blackmailed to pay off my brother’s debt and I wanted to do it. “I’m twenty-three and I have never known my father to have a partner or even attempt to have a relationship. He’s never asked me to take one of his floozies shopping, either. That is exactly what they are, floozies. He has different women every day. You, though, you are…oh, my God!” she exclaimed.
    “What?” I quickly questioned her.
“You haven’t had sex with him yet, have you?” Lorena stared at me in complete shock. “That’s it, isn’t it? I mean, why else would he have been with a woman in his office doing…what did you say they were doing again?”
    “I didn’t.”
“Well, guess what, you can tell me all about it during our therapy session,” she announced.
“Our what?” I looked at her, confused.
“Come on,” she urged, dragging me by my arms and steering me toward the foyer. “We’ve got a whole load of retail therapy to do. That’s the only therapy I need.”
Oh, shit. I think I preferred the bitchy Lorena to this one.
