observing the fifteen-minute rule, and if nobody came in for a last-minute sugar fix they could begin closing procedures a bit early.
Kit pulled out her phone. “Let’s a get a shot of those shoes for the Facebook page. You know the pictures of your outfits are starting to get more likes than our food?”
“Maybe tomorrow I should wear a cupcake bra?” Sidney winked.
“Lady Gaga would have nothing on you.” I wouldn’t get much work done, either. The image of Sidney stripped to the waist, sporting swirls of delicious chocolate buttercream on her breasts, bloomed in her mind. She had to take a second snapshot because her fingers trembled a bit the first time around.
“I was thinking for dinner we could order in a pizza and binge-watch a show,” Kit was saying. She posted the picture and already somebody had liked it.
“We do that all the time. Let’s go out to Mick’s, or somewhere at the beach.”
Kit sucked in her breath. “I’m a bit tight this week.” Not the complete truth, but what if somebody saw them together? Yeah, one could assume two co-workers had gone out to eat, but given how Sidney leaned toward affection Kit didn’t want to be put on display.
“I don’t mind treating,” Sidney said.
“I like having you to myself. A restaurant booth is so uncomfortable.”
“What did you think—oh, never mind. Pizza it is.” Sidney stood on her tiptoes and glanced toward the kitchen, then relaxed and leaned into Kit. “During my lunch break I went to the toy store,” she whispered, her voice pitched high and giddy. Kit knew right away she wasn’t talking about dolls or cartoon ponies. Her breath hitched and she leaned on the counter for support. Over the last few weeks they’d introduced more paraphernalia to their play. Her backside still felt sore from last night’s session with some rather wide anal beads.
She cast a nervous glance at the kitchen, hoping Tish stood well out of earshot. “Maybe later on…”
Sidney reached under the counter for her handbag and brought out a black plastic bag. Inside was a blister package advertising the Li’l Honey, which looked to Kit like one of the many bullet vibrators Sidney owned. This one, though, was shaped like a large, thick guitar pick and had elastic straps attached to it.
“You wear it like a thong, with this in front.” Sidney tapped the triangular vibrating contraption. She then reached for a pair of scissors under the cash register and worked on the tough plastic. “It comes with this remote control which you can set up to five different speeds.”
“Uh, you want to do that there?” Kit looked around the shop. The sidewalks of the main shopping district were empty. One car rolled past the store windows. Kit’s anxiety ratcheted up a notch as Sidney hacked at this sex toy sealed with plastic that could withstand a nuclear attack. She wondered why the woman possessed the urgency to open the damn thing during work hours. Granted, they were creeping toward quitting time, but they couldn’t walk away without cleaning up first.
Could one walk in a battery operated thong? Worse yet, what if Tish caught them? How could she explain this?
“Easy, Sidney.” She brushed the hand that wielded the scissors. “That blister packaging is tough. You could slice a finger with this sharp plastic.”
“I just need to puncture it, and it’ll pry apart. There,” Sidney said with triumph as the protective bubble came apart. She scooped up the thong and pressed it into Kit’s hand. “Go try it on.”
“You bought this for me?” she squeaked. Not that she minded if a main squeeze bought her gifts, but Kit had spotted the price sticker on the package. Sex toys didn’t come cheap, especially small ones. Probably the one example where size didn’t matter.
“I bought it for us . C’mon, I want to see if it works, and there’s nobody coming in right now.” Sidney nudged her to the unisex bathroom—a single stall with yellow walls with
