Summer's Alpha
sipped again.  I stood there staring
at her with my mouth hanging open.  “Don’t worry dear.  Earl is not going to
let Kelly go anywhere.”  Shirley grinned at me over her teacup.  Her eyes
twinkled with mischief.  I grinned back.  She relaxed me so easily.
    “You don’t
understand how convincing he can be.  Kelly will cave.”
    “Oh I think I
know.  Remember I was mated to Mark.”  Shirley hopped off the stool and went
for more tea.  I looked at Jackson.
    “It’ll be okay
Summer.  Don’t worry.”  He said that but I knew better.  Jackson was just as
afraid of him as I was.  He’d better get over that and get his alpha on if Dad
is coming here.  Larry stood up and took a set of keys from Jackson.  I
furrowed my eyebrows at him.  “Larry and Benny are going to go get my truck.
You and I are moving into the alpha house after work.”  Shirley was coming back
with another cup of tea.
    “You guys don’t
have to wait if you don’t want to.  Go pack your clothes and take an early
weekend Summer.  Get settled.  When your dad shows up, I will handle him, and
like Jackson said, don’t worry.”  I nod and head up the stairs to my
apartment.  Within minutes, Jackson is locking the door.
    “God, I didn’t
think that I could wait another minute.”  I look up from the clothes that I am
folding.  This will be an easy move, we only have our clothes, and everything
else belongs to Shirley.  His eyes glow the color of desire and I gasp.  He
shoves the clothes off onto the floor and throws me down.  I squeal.  Jackson
is pulling his clothes off.  “I want you Summer.”  I nibble my lip and pull my
tee shirt over my head.  Someone knocks on the door to the store.
    “Summer, your
sister Autumn is on the phone downstairs.”  Shirley calls through the door.
    “Shit.”  Jackson
hisses.  I pull my shirt back on and hurry down the stairs.

    “What happened?”
Autumn asked as soon as I said ‘hello.’  “Daddy just tore out of her in the
truck like it was a green flag race.”  She giggled.
    “I don’t know how
much you heard but here’s the deal.  Kelly killed Frank.”
    “No shit?”  Autumn
gasped.  “Way to go Sissy.”
    “With a letter
opener, can you believe that?  Kelly?  Anyway, Jackson and me are the alphas
here now in East View.  We want you and Tim to come here, Jackson will give him
a beta spot.  This pack needs new members and they want mated pairs if
possible.  No pressure, but if you want to get away from Dad…”
    “I’ll talk to
Tim.  Can Sherry and Ashley come?  They aren’t mated but what better way to
attract new male members if not with available of age females?”  She had a point.
“Also, a couple of the guys have been talking about breaking out so I might
have some guys too.”  Why didn’t I think of this before?  Autumn is shallow
sure, she is plastic girl, but she is nothing if not a social butterfly.  She
is the werewolf answer to social networking on the internet.  Autumn knows
everyone in our pack and the two bordering allied packs.
    “Of course Autumn,
did you know that you are brilliant sometimes?”
    “I have my moments
don’t I?  You can buy me a present when we get there.  Do you have housing for
us?”  I grimace.  Damned if I know.
    “Hang on a sec?”
I walk over to Shirley at the other end of the counter, where she’s doing the
books.  “Shirley, do we have housing for a lot of people?  My sister has an
entourage.”  I can hear Autumn laughing on the other end of the line.
    “Absolutely, like
I told you nearly everyone has left for greener pastures.  I think there are
nineteen empty houses, some will need work, but she and her friends can have
their pick.  You are going to love my house Summer.”  That’s right.  I am
moving into the alpha house, Shirley’s old house.  My brows knit.
    “Where do you live
now Shirley?”  She smiles brightly.
    “When I
