Her resulting orgasm was hardly satisfying, yet it was just enough to take the edge off her growing need for Darrin. Once she had washed up, she typed a response to Darrin that made her grin, That was good, but the real thing is much better ;)
Christ, Sara. I’m so hard now, it hurts. Skip breakfast in the morning. I know what I’m gonna eat
Sara typed back a simple reply, k before she finished her lunch.
Sara proceeded to have the most relaxing Saturday afternoon she’d had in a very long time. Donning a simple bikini, she headed outside with a towel to lie out in the July sun, hoping to get some color on her pale skin this afternoon. Everything is going to work out just fine , she lamented as she headed for the only bit of grass she had in the sun. For once, she actually believed herself.

Chapter Eight

“Y ou know, you don’t have to spend the night here, Sara. I’ll be fine on my own.”
The irritated tone in Bryn’s voice made Sara wince when she realized that her sister had been talking to her for the last few minutes, and she had absolutely no clue what was said. The first part of the conversation was about the motorcycle that her boss had given to her, the second part was completely null and void as her thoughts drifted to a certain rugged, but perfectly-chiseled, devastatingly gorgeous boyfriend that was more than certainly home by now.
“What’s the problem, Sara?” Bryn prodded again.
Sara shook her head as she answered, “No problem, lady. I kinda zone out when you talk about motorcycles is all. Sorry.”
Bryn huffed, “Uh uh, Sara. Calling ‘bullshit’ on you. Your cheeks are pinker than Aunt Sue’s after she applies that god-awful Ms. Bess cotton candy blush on her face.”
Sara give her sister a tight-lipped smile, before she stared at a point over her shoulder, not able to look her in the eyes while she came up with a suitable lie. Mere seconds had passed before a warm hand grabbed her wrist that was resting on the back of the couch. Sara looked down in time to see that Bryn had pulled her wrist down, grasping her hand in a death grip. Looking from their joined hands, to the pained look on her sister’s face, Sara scooted closer to her sister. Bryn surprised her by lacing their fingers together and softly placed a kiss on Sara’s exposed knuckles.
“I deserve the award for the worst sister of the world, Sara. I won’t deny that. I would like to change that, now, if you agree. You don’t have to tell me all about your relationship with Darrin, unless you want to. I don’t have any advice to give you anyway that wouldn’t make Darrin run like hell from you.” Bryn gave a pained laughed before she continued, “I do want us to be able to communicate with each other without using sarcasm, or criticizing each other, or even name-calling. Dr. Jensen is willing to do a few group sessions with you and I to get the ball rolling if you’re interested.”
Sara felt as if she had just fallen down the proverbial “rabbit hole.” Did her sister just admit that there was more sarcasm to their relationship than anything else and offered to sit through counseling with her? The wheels in her brain started to churn as the information filtered through her mind, causing her lips to turn upwards in a wide grin. Bryn repeated the facial expression, even pulling her sister into a tight hug that she didn’t release for a long time. Sara pulled back as she felt wetness dripping onto her bare shoulder.
“Oh, Bryn, don’t cry. Honey, I’ll do it.”
Bryn wiped the tears from her cheeks as she barked out a laugh, “I got that already, Sara. These are happy tears. After all these years, I’m starting to actually feel like I don’t have to carry around all this anger anymore. It just might be possible to let it all go, and be able to see the good in people, not just the bad.”
“Oh, I’m so proud of you, Bryn. That is wonderful,” Sara said as she pulled her sister back in for another hug.
