a tug on his shirt and turned to see April standing beside his chair with
a book in her hand.
    “How
about you read to me?” he said.
    She
shook I head. “I don’t know how.”
    “Is
Maddie going to teach you?”
    April
shrugged her shoulders and placed the book on his lap.
    He’d
read to her because he was in a good mood after some afternoon loving with her
mother. His body was still feeling the pleasure she’d brought to him when they’d
had sex just six hours ago.
    “Okay,
but just until supper’s ready, okay?”
    April
nodded and climbed up on the couch next to him.
    He
hoped she wouldn’t insist he did voices to match the characters in the story.
He remembered his mother doing that when she read bedtime stories to him and
Jackson. It made him suddenly miss her so much. He guessed Brody felt the same
way about his mother and a sadness that she wouldn’t see him getting married.
    “Hurry
up,” said April.
    “You
are kind of bossy,” he said.
    “Am
not.”
    “Am
too,” he said, nudging her playfully before he opened the book.
    “In
the woods lived a dog.”
    April
pointed to the picture. “That’s him,” she said.
    “It
was raining and he settled down in his chair for the night. He hadn’t realized
that he’d fallen asleep until he heard something scratching outside his door.
Who’s there? Asked the dog.”
    Without
realizing it he had used a different voice for the dog and he also hadn’t seen
Susanne standing in the doorway between the living room and kitchen.
    She
smiled at him. Yeah, both these ladies almost had him right where they wanted
him, almost.
    “I
hate to interrupt this story, but supper is ready,” said Susanne.
    “We’ll
finish it some other time,” Branndon said, intrigued enough to want to know who
was scratching the dog’s door.
    He
followed April into the kitchen and she climbed onto what had now become her
place at the table and not his. He sat next to Susanne and their thighs brushed
when she came to join them.
    Chicken
casserole and rice. He wondered where he’d learned to cook so well.
    Theirs
legs touched throughout the meal and when he they were done, Branndon put his
hand on her thigh and squeezed it.
    “Time
to get ready for bed,” said Susanne.
    “When
will I be done with school so I can stay awake later?” asked April.
    “In
the summer.”
    “When’s
that?”
    “Not
that far away. It will be here before you know it,” said Susanne.
    Branndon
watched as she led April away from the table and he decided to clear away the
dishes and load the dishwasher. He put the leftovers in the fridge and by the
time he was done, Susanne was standing in the kitchen, looking so sexy that he
wanted her all over again.
    “April
hit the pillow like she was dead to the world,” she said.
    “Probably
the fresh air and the horse riding,” said Branndon.
    “You
think your brother would take her riding again so we can…?”
    He
didn’t let her finish. He walked over to her and kissed her. She threw her arms
around him and kissed him back.
    “I’ve
never been so horny in all my life. What have you done to me?” she asked him.
    “Glad
you want sex again because I’m in desperate need of being inside that pussy of
yours.”
    “April
will hear us in the bedroom,” said Susanne.
    “But
not in the bathroom because it’s the farthest away from her room.”
    He
grabbed Susanne’s hand and let her along the hallway, pulled her into the
bathroom and shut the door, turning the lock to secure it, just in case they
had a little visitor wander inside.
    Branndon
took off his jeans and boxers and then backed Susanne against the countertop.
He lifted her up and pushed up her skirt, quickly relieving her of her panties.
He loved the thick, dark curls at the apex of her thighs. So many of the women
he’d been with liked the barer look, but he’d always loved a woman’s special
curls. He spread her legs some more, opening her up, allowing him to see how
wet and excited she was
