    Heath could feel Volt’s hand

    “Right. I’m not an idiot, Blaze. You just said they were having at it like animals.”
    “Blaze, enough,” Levi said with a
grumble.
    Remembering suddenly that the bear
shifter’s nose was sharp, Heath reddened and returned to reality. He began
scrambling for his clothes.
    “Volt!”
    “What? Let them wait. They can fucking wait while we finish off in the shower.”
    Heath glared at Volt. “The shower?”
    “Hey assholes,” Volt shouted to the
door. “Come back in fifteen minutes.”
    Blaze and Levi’s footsteps faded.
    Volt then cleaned both of them in
the shower. Heath wasn’t sure what to do without a roast chicken to complete
the dinner, so he had to make do with whatever they had in the pantry.
    “Your panties are still in a twist
about the chicken, huh?” Volt asked as Heath furiously worked a can opener.
    “I don’t wear panties,” Heath
snapped. “I mean, I just asked you to buy one thing.”
    He let out a breath when he felt
Volt’s arms around him. The gesture was unexpectedly gentle, coming from Volt.
No jokes and no threats of another round of punishment came from his master.
Volt started rubbing his back. Oh gods, it felt good.
    “Hush, Heath. Calm down.
Everything’s fine. I’m sorry. I won’t forget the next time. Sometimes all I can
think about is coming home to your sweet little body.”
    Heath melted and nearly fell apart
with shock. Tenderness flooded him. He’d never expect Volt to apologize for
anything. “Okay. Okay, Volt.”
    Volt kissed the nape of his neck.
“Anything else I can do?”
    “Yeah.” Heath let out a shaky laugh. Gods, he still couldn’t believe how well he and
Volt were working out. “Stay out of my kitchen and entertain Sarah, your
brother, and his mate in the living room. You know I can’t focus with you

    Gale poked at the mysterious greasy
glob on his plate Heath claimed was his famous ‘casserole surprise’. It
certainly hid many surprises given Gale wasn’t exactly sure what sort of
mystery meat it contained.
    He could feel Volt’s glower from
the other end of the table. “You’re going to eat whatever’s on your plate,
asshole. Heath worked hard on dinner.”
    Blaze continued to play with the
chuck of untouched casserole on his plate. Levi was brave enough to take
several spoonfuls only to excuse himself after. Thirty minutes later, the poor
