“She’s got a lot of admirers, doesn’t she?” Ryder interrupted his fantasy. “She’s going to end up with one of them. She’s too irresistible not to.”
    “Not one of them .”
He hopped off the stool and headed in her direction. No way was he letting any of these dirtbags steal her right from him.
“You must not have seen me.” He took her elbow and guided her away from the three guys practically licking their lips over her.
“Hey,” Cory, the left fielder, said as Holt tried to move Rosalie to the bar area. “Where you going?”
“She’s with me.” Holt stared down his friend. The team had an unwritten rule. When one of them was interested in a girl, the others backed down. Holt’s mistake was not claiming the princess sooner.
“Sorry, man.” Cory held up his hand. “Have fun.”
“Hey.” Rosalie wiggled out of his hold and turned to face him. “What are you doing?”
“What am I doing? No, the question is what are you doing?”
    “Trying things my way.”
“Showing up here half-naked and flirting with other guys. That’s your way?” Didn’t she know how dangerous that could be?
“It got your attention, didn’t it?”
    “You’ve always had my attention.”
    “Show me,” she challenged.
“Do you know what you’re asking?” He put his arms around her hips and pulled her to him, wanting more than anything to show her everything he wanted.
“Oh!” She gasped when he squeezed her tight.
    “Answer me.”
“Why do you have to be so pushy?”
    “I like being in charge.”
“Really?” Her little giggle was enough to make him want to take her home and keep her in bed for days. “Because I don’t do well with overbearing, dominating men.”
He lowered his lips to her ear. “Maybe because you’ve never been with a real man before.”
    “I... Yes, well...”
“What’s wrong, Miss Yale? Where are all your fancy words now? Too busy thinking about how dominating and overbearing I could be?”
    “You don’t scare me.”
“Good, because fear has no place in the bedroom.” He brushed his lips along her jaw and to her mouth. “An open mind and no inhibitions work best with me.”
“I think you’re all talk.” She turned her head before he could connect with her lips.
“Let me take you back to your place.” He took her chin between his fingers, bringing her face back to his. “We don’t have to talk at all.”
“What are we going to do? Eat pizza and watch the sports channel?”
Feisty tonight. “There’ll be some eating involved.” He licked his lips when he thought about where he’d like to bury his head. “And some rigorous activity too.”
    “At my place?”
“We could go to my house, but then Ryder would have to hear you scream all night. If you’re into that sort of thing, then let’s go.” He rocked his hips forward, letting her feel through that thin dress just what she was doing to him. He’d be returning the favor in about ten minutes. “What’s it going to be?” He pressed his lips to hers, licking the seam of her slightly parted mouth. “I know why you showed up here all sexy and flirty. I know what you want. Let me give it to you.”
“I came with Sage.” She swallowed hard. “I can’t leave so soon.”
“What’s the matter? Didn’t think I’d give in so fast? Did you think I was going to watch you put it all out there for my boys to drool over?”
    She shook her head.
“Go tell your sister we’re leaving.” He released her from his hold and walked back over to Ryder. “I’m going.” He finished off his beer. “See you at home later.”
“That was fast,” his roommate said. “I thought you two weren’t right for each other.”
    “Her words?”
Rosalie said goodbye to her sister, and as Sage whispered something into her ear, Nic stared at Holt.
Get over it, big brother. She’s all mine.
“She mentioned that you were playing with her,” Ryder said. “Don’t screw with her. She’s not
