back a few steps as she grabbed onto the shotgun, trying to pull it away from him.
The initial tug surprised him and she almost got it, but she pulled back, even kicking at him.
“Give it to me you motherfucker!” she screamed. He obliged her by pulling the trigger. In the muzzle flash he watched her head explode as the barrel was pointed right at her face. He went to rack another round, but the shotgun was empty. Tossing it aside, he pulled his sidearm back out and stepped into the room.
He moved around chairs and tables as he reached another door. That one swung opened with an echo. It was a bathroom or shower room. Once the door slammed behind him, the lights came on. There were several women in various stages of undress just a few feet in front of him. Behind them, Higgins was bobbing around, trying to hide from him.
The women screamed and jumped at him. Several clawed at his face, tearing chunks of flesh away. Others kicked and threw knees, several shots catching him in the nuts. He felt none of it, though. His rage hit a boiling point at the mere site of Higgins. The women managed to knock him to the floor as they piled on.
Higgins was heading for the door so he decided to take drastic measures. He opened fire on the women. Naked and half naked bodies flopped everywhere as he hit a couple right between the tits, one took a round to the face. Pieces of brain and skull peppered his face as he pushed the last of the women off him. A few pieces of brain got into his mouth. Had he not been fighting for his life, he probably would have thrown up. In the chaos he actually hit two of the girls with one shot. The round went through one’s chest, out her back and into the chest of a girl behind her.
He stood and looked around at the pile of bodies. It was surreal how many people he’d killed in just a few hours. As he reloaded his gun, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. His appearance was so horrific that he almost shot the mirror itself. His face and clothes were scratched and torn to hell. Blood covered his face and chest. He couldn’t tell how much was his or others. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of Higgins headed through the door.
This time, he bolted after him and caught up to him in the club. Higgins had tripped over Skeeter’s body.
“Hey, Agent Kennedy, look. I think we had a misunderstanding,” Higgins said lying on his back.
“Oh there’s going to be a misunderstanding all right,” Bobby said as he grabbed him by the collar and dragged him toward the door. The sunlight was bright and hot as they got outside.
“Now, you’re going to take me to my daughter,” He said.
“Uh, ok. You gonna kill me?”
“Maybe. You take me to her and I might not if I’m feeling generous.”
“Look. I’m sorry about your cop friend. We don’t take to outsiders here, especially the law. Whenever someone comes sniffing around, we just send ‘em up that hill. That sink hole is a few hundred feet deep. Your friend never knew what hit him.”
Bobby pistol whipped him in the nose. Blood sprayed from it as the butt of the gun crunched into Higgins’s nose.
“Fuck man! What was that for?” Higgins cried.
“Do you know what hit you?” Bobby said.
“Shit man. Yeah, I said I was sorry.”
“This town is about to meet the rest of the world, real fast. Now get up.” Bobby pulled him to his feet. Higgins held his hand over his nose as blood ran between his fingers.
“You broke my nose man. It’s bleedin’ real bad.”
“I’ll get you a band-aid. You’re not a real cop at all are you?”
“Well, I mean they elected me Sheriff kinda. I just found the uniform and put it on.”
         “Go figure.”
“Hey, you done killed almost half the town already. Them girls was all
