spot to see how juicy it was before his entry. Once he felt the proper welcome, Kari slid his thick penis inside of my pussy and looked me dead in my eyes not wanting to miss a single reaction. This lovemaking session proved to be one of the best in my life. I had never felt so connected to anyone during sex and those feelings heightened the intensity. The entire experience was unbelievable.
The following afternoon, I woke up in Kari’s arms. I caressed his chest to see if he was awake. He responded with a kiss on my forehead.
I smiled to myself. When I was about to daydream and doze off again, my phone buzzed. I realized that I had not heard from Dev, so I jumped up to grab the phone from the nightstand.
â€œHey girl, where are you?” I asked in a raspy voice.
â€œI’m at Mel’s. They finally released him a few hours ago and we came back to his place.”
    â€œOh good,” I said, relieved.
â€œI’m guessing that you made it home okay. The last text that I got was when you guys were on the way back to the apartment,” Dev said.
â€œYeah, I’m fine. Kari stayed over.” I tried to slide that in. “Have you slept at all?”
â€œNope, not a wink. I’ll probably go shower and take a nap right now. I’ll be home later,” Dev said very matter-of-factly. “Oh yeah, and I’ll get your story later too.”
I couldn’t help but laugh. “Okay, call me if you need anything,” I offered before we hung up.
I looked over at Kari. He had fallen back asleep. I was on a high, floating on clouds and feeling extremely nice. So I decided to get domestic and headed into the kitchen to whip up a little breakfast.
Either the sound of clinking pots and pans or the smell of yummy food summoned Kari to the kitchen about twenty minutes later. He tried to mask the look of surprise on his face. I guess he didn’t take me for the cooking type. He walked up behind me and put his hands on my waist. I could feel his manly physique against my body and his calm breathing on my neck as he leaned in to me. He whispered “thank you” and kissed my lower neck, then softly pecked my shoulder. His touch felt so loving. It almost made me uncomfortable.
I didn’t know if he was thanking me for the previous night or for the breakfast. But either way, I accepted it. He probably thought that my cooking for him was a stretch, and in some ways it was. Not technically speaking, but more emotionally. I wanted to like him and let him in, but it wasn’t that simple for me.
    â€œBreakfast is served,” I said.
â€œThat’s so sweet, babe,” Kari replied, as he walked over to the bar to take a seat.
I reached over and set Kari’s plate and silverware in front of him, but I could not look into his eyes. I was sure that he noticed because I felt him piercing a hole in my body.
I ignored the awkwardness and sat down next to him to eat. After his first bite, he rubbed his hand on my thigh and said how good the food was. Where did this guy come from?

Chapter 7
Low Life
A fter the events of the weekend, I felt like I needed a vacation, but I had to go and slave at a desk for eight to ten hours. Working in PR, you never knew what the day would bring, especially at an agency like mine. A client could have a crisis that needed immediate attention. Breaking news could hit that could turn your world upside down. Or one of the senior publicists could go on a tirade and start berating everyone that works on the team. Talk about a potentially uncomfortable and hostile environment. All of the day-to-day drama really created a lot of unnecessary stress and pressure, but after a while you would adapt and get used to it.
I got a call late in the afternoon from my girl Latina in the Los Angeles office. She instructed me to go into one of the conference rooms and call her back. I hung up the phone and I felt my stomach begin to tighten and turn over. I
