slammed the door behind me before screaming into the mirror, trying to let out all my frustrations. This shit couldn’t be happening to me right now.
“Laci, are you okay?” I heard Nazi ask, knocking on the door.
“Yeah Nazi, I’m fine,” I sighed.
“Well, you have a phone call.”
    “Who is it?”
    “Gunz,” she said.
“Gunz,” I said to myself. A smile spread across my face as I tried to fix my appearance in the mirror. “Girl, what are you doing, he can’t see you,” I said to myself.
I opened the bathroom door, snatched the phone out her hand, then closed the door back shut. For some reason, it took me a couple of minutes to put the phone to my ear.
“Ayo Laci, you there, ma?” Gunz called out.
    “Yeah, I’m here,” I said.
    “Happy birthday, love!”
    “Thank you.” I smiled.
“What you got planned for the day?”
“I’m about to go out with my sister, then I have to go to dinner at my parents’ house at eight.”
“Damn, you sound too busy for your boy.” The smile I already had spread wider because I heard a hint of hurt in his voice.
“No, I’m not too busy for you. I’m sure I can move some things around if you want to meet up or something.”
“If you could do that, then that would be cool. Just let me know what time you’re free. You can swing by my crib and I can give you your gift.”
“You bought me a gift? You didn’t have to.”
“You don’t have to tell me I didn’t have to because I already know. I bought a gift because you deserve it. But, go ahead and get ready to go out with your sister. I’ll talk to you when I catch up with you. Store my number in your phone too, Laci.”
“Okay,” I replied and hung up the phone.
My cheeks were burning from the smile I had on my face. I wished I didn’t waste that time trying to fight him off because today would be the last day that I see him. It was now too late to undo what I created as my fate. So, instead of dwelling on what was soon to come when I went to my parents’ house, I was going to enjoy the time spent with Nazi and Gunz.

“You sure this outfit is okay?” I asked Nazi.
We were outside of Gunz’s house and I was having second thoughts. When we went to the hair salon, I had them flatiron my hair bone straight. Wearing my curls was something that I always did, so I wanted to do something different. I didn’t understand why I allowed Nazi to pick out my outfit. She had me wearing a leather Bodycon dress that was sleeveless and had a slit up the front where the zipper ended. The dress was way too sexy for me to wear, but Nazi insisted. Plus, she paid for it, so I didn’t have much of a choice. On my feet were a pair of red pumps. If you asked me, I looked like a hooker trying to catch a john.
“Laci, you look fine, stop overreacting. Go in there, get your present, and then we can leave.”
“Okay,” I said, getting out the car.
“I’ll be at Jinx’s crib waiting for you, okay? Just relax Laci, relax.”
I nodded my head and walked the short distance to Gunz’s house. With each step I took, it felt as though my heart was going to fall out of my chest. I went to knock on the door, but before I could get my sweaty hand in a knocking position, Gunz opened the door. His fine ass was dressed in a pair of sweats.
“Wassup Laci?” He smiled, pulling me into him. Any other time I would’ve fought him off, but this time, I welcomed it. I even pushed my lips out to throw a hint at him that I wanted a kiss, but he didn’t catch it.
He closed the door behind us, then led me to his bedroom. His bedroom was huge as hell. He had an all gold sleigh bed, while the rest of the room was black and burgundy. It looked like everything in his room was strategically placed.
“Close the door behind you.” I closed the bedroom door and before I knew it, Gunz had my back pinned against it.
“What are you doing here, Laci?” he asked in a husky voice.
“You told me to come,” I
