I’m not crazy. Just stay.
Spend some time with me. Explore what’s happening between us. You can’t deny
the attraction. I can feel it. Feel this.” He took her hand and placed it over
his heart, then placed it over her own. It pounded against her ribcage.
Slowly she shook her head. “All right,
I’ll stay while Cori and Xav are here.”
She’d stay for a lot more, but he didn’t
express the thought out loud. He’d scared her enough but at least, she’d agreed
to spend more time with him. All he really needed with her to prove he’d spoken
the truth. He knew once her friend and his brother got there tomorrow, she’d
know he didn’t lie. Nothing like being introduced to the queen of the sea, who
happens to be her best-friend, and his brother’s bride. The chair had turned
her into a Child of the Waves and she’d dwell beneath the depths with his
brother. However, he held silent for now. He’d said enough.
“Here, let me get out the conditioner.”
He stood them both up and rinsed out her hair. Afterward, he toweled her off,
wrapped her in the robe he’d had made on a whim, and then done the same for
himself. Though he didn’t put his robe on. He stilled when he noticed her body
froze as she watched him in the mirror—her focus didn’t rest on him.
Rather, on the name he’d had stitched onto the breast of the robe. Hali.
Her fingers traced over the letters and
then her eyes darted to his.
He smiled, picked her up and carried her
to his bed. Laying her gently down, he slowly opened the robe, revealing the
slender curved body before him. He decided not to turn on the recessed
lightning over the bed. He liked the way the soft light from the lamp beside
the bed bathed her caramel-colored skin in its glow. He lowered himself between
her legs and she spread them for him, cradling his shoulders between her
thighs.
He blew against her nether curls and
immediately he saw her woman’s dew pearling at her opening. “I know I didn’t
wait for you to get your pleasure before, but I will give it to you now. Are
you ready for me?”
She inclined her head as yes.
Without taking his eyes off her, he
stuck out his tongue and licked from the base of her nether lips, all the way
to the top. He watched her eyes roll back and her head push into the pillow. He
swirled his tongue around her nub before sucking on it. Des opened her legs
wider for him. He stuck his tongue into her canal as far as it could go. Then
getting onto his knees, he raised her legs until they were over his shoulders
and he buried his face in her. Inhaling her sweet fragrance while he wrung the
nectar of the gods from her. He used his tongue relentlessly.
Her body then spasmed several times.
But he didn’t gain satisfaction until she
uttered a primal sound in the guise of a scream, forming his name.
Her entire body shivered in his arms from
the intensity of her last release.
Only then, did he lower her trembling
legs but remained settled between her thighs. Ever so gently, he alternated
between blowing upon her heated and swollen flesh and licking her to calm her
down. Crawling up her body, he kissed each closed eyelid. “Sleep, my love,
sleep.” Rolling off her, he cradled her against him, placing her back to his
front. He curled his body around hers and fell asleep.

Out on the water a dolphin screamed.
Ezekiel bolted up from a deep sleep. Des lay beside him, her breathing even,
her eyes closed. The room rested in shadows but dawn would soon greet the
shore. Had he been dreaming? No. Something had awakened him. Danger. He felt it in his soul. He eased out of bed, so as not to waken Des. Pausing
once to glance down at her, his heart pounding in his chest. His bride. At last
he’d found her. He wanted nothing more than to crawl back into bed and make
love to her. Again. Tell her how he really felt and prove to her he wasn’t
crazy. They weren’t crazy to feel the way they did so soon. But his senses
screamed,
