done
here.”
    I folded my arms,
knowing how easy it would be to pick her up and carry her right back.
But letting her come to me on her own would be even better.
    “What do you mean?”
she asked, giving me a look of innocent confusion. So genuine, so
damn tempting.
    I tilted my head toward
the disaster on the floor. “See this?”
    “Of course. How could
I miss it?”
    “Exactly,” I said.
“Go put on that maid’s uniform. We made a big mess here and
somebody’s got to clean it up.”

CHAPTER SEVEN
    He was serious. He
really was.
    I wasn’t sure if I
felt humiliated or aroused – or both – but I found the uniform in
the maid’s room across the house and put it on. Thigh-length flared
skirt, short-sleeved top with a plunging neckline, white apron – it
was a perfect fit. Sexy, too, if you didn’t count my flip flops.
    Drex sat in his boxer
briefs in a chair and watched me sweep up broken china with a broom
and dustpan.
    “Still no panties?”
he said, making a tsk tsk sound when I bent over to pick up a napkin ring. “Shame. We’ll
have to buy you some pretty ones tomorrow.”
    So the dominance thing
wasn’t just an act to turn me on and make me put out. This was
Drex. If I didn’t want to be on my knees reaching for a stray fork,
I shouldn’t have begged to earn my keep. I shouldn’t have
rewarded him by getting wetter with every brusque command.
    It was too late now.
    I was getting what I’d
asked for, and even if my mind wasn’t so sure about it, my body was
loving every submissive minute. I was hot for him, feeling a sultry
flush of excitement whenever I gave him a view of my naked backside
and braless breasts.
    “You missed a spoon,”
he said, pointing toward the credenza. “Over there.”
    “Thanks,” I said. I
scowled even as my pussy began to throb.
    “You’re pretty good
at this,” he said. “You probably don’t do it very much in real
life, but you’re not too bad.”
    I frowned. “Is that
supposed to be a compliment?”
    “Call it an
observation,” he said, and smiled.
    Damn this man. The more
demanding he was, the sexier he got.
    After I’d finished
cleaning the floor and mopping it for good measure, Drex stood up and
gave me a long, soft kiss. “Thank you,” he said. “You look
stunning in that uniform. I love watching you.”
    “Anything else I can
do?” I asked, brushing back my hair with my forearm. “Dust the
rafters? Scrub the bathroom tile with a toothbrush?”
    “All right, smart
ass,” he said. “You’ve had a hell of a day. I think it’s time
for bed.”
As soon as he said the
word “bed,” I realized how heavy I felt, my limbs almost numb
with exhaustion.
    “Where do you sleep?”
I asked.
    “In the master
bedroom. And that’s where you’re going to sleep, too.” I hadn’t
dared to hope he’d ask – or in this case, demand – but now I
could finally let myself smile.
    Drex closed the terrace
doors, fed Diesel, and put her in her kennel. “Now look at that,”
he said as she turned around twice on her bed. “Have you ever seen
a more docile dog in your life? At this moment, anyway.”
    My memory of dogs was
as empty as all the others. “I wouldn’t know,” I said.
    He grimaced and shook
his head. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean –”
    “It’s okay,” I
said. “It’s not every day you talk to somebody with no memory.”
    “Or fuck them,” he
said. He slipped his arm around my waist and we headed down the
hallway. “I hope you don’t think I took advantage of you.”
    “I can take care of
myself,” I said. “As you’ve seen.”
    “And felt. You know
my ear still hurts from this afternoon?”
    “Poor baby,” I
said, elbowing him lightly. “That’s what you get for throwing a
strange woman in your truck.”
    “And I’d do it
again. Ten times.”
    The master bedroom was
three times the size of the guest room, with glossy white marble
floors, dark blue walls, and a huge bed carved from mahogany. Four
arched doors led to
