Justus
soon
come.
She could hear the sounds of
their bodies together, the sound of slapping as his pace
quickened.
He lifted her hips and sat
back on his legs. She watched as he stared down at where they were
joined. Part of her wanted to be ashamed at where he was looking,
but it was erotic to have him see her and erotic to look, his dark
skin contrasting with her own pale skin.
Justus looked up to her eyes
on him and only moved faster.
She could feel it now. The
warm heat moving through her. Her insides clenched, tightening
around him.
    “Fuck,” he grunted. His hips
moved faster than she thought possible.
He slammed in hard, and her
insides quivered around him, squeezing him as her orgasm rolled
over her. Justus shouted her name as his own release took hold. Hot
cum filled her as the lasts of her own orgasm wrung him of his
final release.
    Still deep inside her, Justus
lay on top of her, sucking in deep breaths. She listened to him,
her hand on his head, loving the feeling of their closeness.
    Slowly, they drifted off to
sleep.

Chapter Eleven

    Paige moved quietly
around the room, dressing in silence as Justus slept in her bed.
She worried a little they might have overdone it going at it two
times in a row, but she couldn’t seem to tell him to stop the
second time.
She glanced down at him. Her
cheeks heated. Sleeping with men after only knowing them a short
time wasn’t really something she did. Heck, it’d been many years
since she’d even last had sex.
Ava was more the free spirit.
The one who went with the flow. Paige was the dependable one who
always seemed to be left dealing with trouble when things got
bad.
    Justus sighed loudly, and she
resisted the urge to just climb back in bed and forget the
food.
    She shook her head and
slipped her pants on. They were out of food, and if the morning was
any indication, he was going to be hungry for more than her when he
woke up. Apparently it took a lot of fuel to keep a super-soldier
going. Or a super-lover for that matter.
Paige crept out the door and
down the stairs. She slipped on her shoes and grabbed her
purse.
She paused for a moment at
the door and debated a note. Really, she wouldn’t be long and
figured he would guess she was just running an errand.
Harsh wind struck her as she
stepped out onto the porch. It bit through her coat and made her
shiver. Her fingers shook as she slipped the key in the lock and
turned.
Not wanting to stand in the
cold longer than she had to, Paige ran to her car and started it
up. The heat kicked on after a moment, and feeling returned to her
toes.
    She eased away from the
house, down her long drive and onto the street.
    Movement in her mirror caught
her attention as one of the trucks from earlier followed her.
She chewed her bottom lip for
a moment. If she turned back, it might look like she had something
to hide. Still, knowing that John’s men were watching her didn’t
set her at ease in the least. If they decided to make her
disappear, no one would be the wiser, especially the way people
were acting recently.
Given the way the sheriff had
behaved and the way John’s men had talked, local law enforcement
was obviously on their side, and it wasn’t like if she called the
FBI, they’d come running because of her suspicions. Plus, from what
little she’d gathered while at Luna Lodge, the Horatius Group had
spies in the government.
    Justus was already at risk
being at her house. The Horatius Group seemed to always have an ear
to the ground, and if they caught on that he was there with her, it
could mean trouble, the kind of trouble her local asshat harassers
couldn’t begin to attempt.
No, she needed to act like
she had nothing to hide, even if it meant putting herself at
risk.

    * * *

    Justus woke with a
start. The bed was cold, and from the smell of it, Paige had been
gone for a while. He grunted once in disappointment and then took
in a deep breath. An unfamiliar musky smell assaulted his nose.
