me.”
“ Theȟíla means to love, hold dear, and cherish, and yes, it’s been used as a designation for wife. The word fits you perfectly, since I love you, and plan to hold you close and cherish you, and then finally marry you. You’ve always been the one for me.”
“Well, then, I expect you to keep your promise too. I want you to love me until I can’t breathe without you.” Stacey wiggled a hand free from between their bodies and cupped Hugh’s cheek.
She kissed him, a kiss of devotion and tenderness. She’d made her choice a long time ago. Now, no matter what else happened, Stacey wanted to claim her man. It was the two of them against the world.
Hugh moaned and settled deeper between her thighs. She could feel his erection poking at her middle. A flush of liquid heralded her excitement. Stacey reached down and wrapped her hand around his hardness. Squeezing, his member jumped in her hand. She aligned him with her entrance and tilted her hips to take him deep. He surged forward and Stacey bent her knees and lifted her hips in rhythm with his thrusts.
“Stacey. So tight, so hot. You’re killing me, baby.” Hugh rose up on his hands so he could get more leverage to power into her.
She chuckled. “Ah, but what a way to die…”
Stacey buried her hands in his hair, forcing his mouth down so she could nibble on his lips. She sucked hard, pulling his bottom lip into her mouth. She grazed her teeth over the silky surface before releasing it. Hugh swore.
He leaned down and sucked her nipple into his mouth. He alternated sucking and lathing the hard nubbin until Stacey thought her world would explode. She moaned, her head thrashing on the pillow. Hugh released her breast.
“Not without me, Stacey. We come together,” he demanded.
Stacey could feel the wave of pleasure hovering, one little push and she’d be done. Hugh continued to thrust into her.
“Hurry! I’m not going to last,” Stacey yelled.
Hugh increased the tempo. He powered into her. He gripped her hips, lifting them, driving deeper. Stacey was on fire. Everything felt flushed and hot. She trembled. Hugh pulled out and plunged back in. She pushed her heels against his butt and wrapped her arms around his neck. She pulled him close, holding with everything she had. He nuzzled her neck and then sucked her earlobe into his mouth. His teeth pressed the soft surface.
Stacey gasped. Fireworks seemed to detonate in her head. She couldn’t scream, she could hardly breathe. Pleasure washed over her. Hugh yelled and joined her in the ether. A second explosion took her higher. Hugh wrapped his arms around her, his hands shaking. There was dampness on her neck and shoulder, whether from sweat or tears, she wasn’t sure. They clung to each other, holding each other safe. Stacey ran her fingers over his silky hair, stroking him. Hugh pressed kisses to her ear and hair and finally her cheek.
Their breathing and heartbeats slowed. Stacey felt boneless, completely melted. Her legs fell open, her muscles ruined. Hugh slid from within her and she moaned, missing the connection. He paused searching her face.
    “Are you all right?”
Stacey nodded, afraid to speak. No, she wasn’t all right. Something happened, something profound. The rational side of her brain told her she was being ridiculous, the intuitive side knew a merging had been completed. Somehow Hugh and Stacey were connected, a linking that couldn’t be severed and would last until death took them.
A tear rolled down her face. She couldn’t stop it. She wasn’t sad, but the tears kept coming. God, what was wrong with her? She put her hands over her face, trying to hide, not wanting Hugh to see her so vulnerable.
“Dammit!” Hugh swore. He gathered her into his arms and rocked her. “I got a little carried away. Tell me you’re all right, baby.”
Stacey grabbed at the hand holding her . She wanted to tell him she was fine. The words wouldn’t come. He destroyed her. His love ripped
