you should be more special than it’s ever been before. It will be a new beginning for the both of us.”
The annoyed look in her eyes disappears, replaced by something more vulnerable.
“You really mean that?” she asks.
I don’t even hesitate before jerking my head in a nod. The words that come out of my mouth almost don’t even sound like me.
“I love you Sofie Bennett. I love you now more than I’ve ever loved anything else in this world. I made you a promise and I’m not going to let anything stop me from keeping it… Even you.”
There’s a desperate look in her eyes as she studies me for a moment.
“You really haven’t been with anyone else these last few weeks?”
“I can’t even think about anyone else.”
She studies me for a while longer. I get the feeling that there’s something she wants to say, but for some reason she’s holding it back. Is she having second thoughts about this whole thing? Maybe she never really expected me to live up to my end of the bargain?
“What are you thinking about right now?” I press.
She shakes her head and brushes hair out of her face, dismissively.
“It’s nothing… It’s just… this is nice. I never expected to be this close to you again.”
I sink lower onto the bed, wrapping my arm around her and pulling her tight to my chest.
“Well, you’d better get ready. Soon you’re going to be a whole lot closer.”
    “Don’t worry, I’ll be ready.”
She fixes me with a smile so seductive that my cock gives another wild jerk. But it’s going to have to wait a while longer before it gets any attention. Just knowing that I could be fucking Sofie right now, if I wanted to, is going to have to be enough to hold it over.
Soon my cock will get the dessert it’s been waiting for. And it will be the sweetest thing it’s ever tasted.

Chapter 18

    Sofie

To celebrate the end of what has become our courtship, Calvin is taking me out to dinner at a fancy restaurant. I looked the place up online after he told me about it and I was surprised by its elegance. He’s pulling out all of the stops to make sure that we have a special start to our new life together. It would be nearly impossible for me not to fall in love with him all over again.
Not that I ever fell out of love with him in the first place. Not really…
But spending time with Calvin in New York City has been way different than when we were in Charleston. Walking into his condo the other night had marked the first time it had really occurred to me that Calvin is way out of my league.
I led a quaint life back home. A simple life. Running off to Europe after I caught Calvin that first time had been the most daring and bold thing I’d ever done. And moving to New York City after finishing school had been a close second. Life in Manhattan is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before—and Calvin epitomizes all of it.
I mean, he’s gorgeous, rich, successful, charming, smart… he’s everything. He can have any woman that he wants. And for some reason he’s choosing me . It’s not that I don’t think I’m worth it, but I’m realistic. I’m not a supermodel. I don’t have long legs and a perfect ass. I don’t have perfect blonde hair and huge boobs. I don’t even come with a trust fund or a large inheritance or anything like that either.
    I’m just me.
But he seems okay with it.
Despite everything that happened in the past, it really feels like we’re on a new level. I basically offered myself to him on a platter the other night, and even after all of the tormenting I’ve put him through he still turned me down. No, he didn’t just turn me down. He handled it in the most perfect way ever… He showed me that he really has become a new man. The old Calvin wouldn’t have hesitated to take me right there in his soft bed. But the new Calvin wants to do it right.
It really hadn’t been a test. Maybe I was feeling guilty after everything that went on with Wade. It’s not
