into bed.”
For the first time since she had seen him standing in the archway, Alyssa felt a genuinely amused smile unfold on her lips. “Not for the sole purpose, huh?”
Nick gave her a soft chuckle and started toward her again. “Look, sweetheart. I’ll tell you what this is if you want to hear it and there isn’t anything crazy about it.”
The closer he got the quicker her heart thumped in her chest. He was so good looking. Both men were. And the cocky little edge Nick had about him was such a contrast to Tanner’s boyishness that it made both men irresistible. She had felt Tanner’s touch, the sensations of his kisses, and the bliss of having him inside her. She had kissed Nick already and it had sent her mind and body on a whirlwind of naughty desires. How could she not want to feel him inside her, too?
    “I’m listening.”
“This is two men so attracted to the same woman that they’re having trouble keeping their hands off of her.” He reached for her, pulled her into his arms, and gave her an arrogant grin. “See. I got too close and I had to touch, just like earlier this evening in the driveway. You kissed me and it wasn’t enough. I had to hold you. I had to feel your amazing body against mine.”
“I didn’t expect that kiss to turn out the way it did,” she admitted and dared to let herself wind her arms around his thick neck. “I didn’t expect it to blow my mind the way it did. And, for the record, I didn’t invite the two of you to dinner for the sole purpose of getting you into bed.”
His grin stretched wider. “Not for the sole purpose, huh?”
She laughed softly when he turned her question around on her. “We’re three consenting adults that are finding it hard not to give into the mutual attraction. That’s what you’re saying this is, right?”
“You and Tanner called it a fling. I say it’s friends with benefits. Either way, we’ve all established that none of us want anything serious despite the sexual attraction none of us is apparently able to resist.”
Alyssa narrowed her eyes as she held his gaze. “How long were you standing there watching us?”
“I spent more time listening than watching. I waited until it sounded like he was inside you before I moved into the archway. I figured by then he would have you distracted enough that you wouldn’t notice me.”
“Do you do this all the time? Share women this way, I mean.”
The muscle in his shoulder flexed beneath her arm as he lifted it. “Not exactly like this, but usually, yes. We go solo now and then, but we prefer it this way.” He waited a beat, his gaze seeming to study hers. “Was that question your way of telling me we get to share you tonight?”
Yes, she was really going to do this, Alyssa realized. It was crazy, no matter what different spin Nick wanted to put on it. It was ludicrous and decidedly the most irrational thing she had ever done in her life, but as she continued to hold his gaze, she knew without a doubt she wanted to go through with it.
She licked her lips, watched his gaze heat as it dropped to her mouth and followed the path of her tongue, and nodded. “That’s exactly what it was.”

Nick kept one arm locked around her slender waist as he bent his knees slightly, slid his other arm to the backs of hers, and scooped her up off her feet. The move surprised a squeak out of her that drew a chuckle from his throat as she settled her sultry body against his chest.
“The bedroom is at the end of the hall. I assume that’s where you’re taking me.”
“Tanner tends to be a little quick on the trigger sometimes,” Nick told her as he turned and carried her out of the kitchen, ignoring the warning alarms sounding in his head. He knew damn well what he should be doing was putting her down right where they stood so he could leave. He should have left when he had started to a few minutes ago. What he had told her hadn’t been entirely true. Though he had put
