club?"
"Yo bro, shorty head game is something serious," he laughed through the phone.
"Yeah, my nigga I bet, but aight I'll see y'all when y'all get here."
I turned on the TV and started watching the basketball game that was on. My mind wondered off to Kaylee, I wanted to make shorty officially mine. When I say officially mine, I mean move her in and everything. She wasn't the basic ass bitches I was used to. Shorty was smart. She wasn't with the drama unless a bitch tried her. Kaylee had dreams of becoming a social worker. She wants to go away to college, but doesn't want to leave Brittany.
"Hey baby, how was your night with Kaylee? Did she have fun?" My mom came walking in the house and asked me.
"Hey, Ma," I got up and have her a hug and a kiss. "Yeah we had fun," I smirked.
"You are moving the rest of your things today right?"
"Yeah, Julian and Ja’kari going to come help me,” I followed her into the kitchen.
"Will y'all be joining us for dinner?" She sat down at the kitchen table and asked me.
"You know I'll never miss one of my mama's meals" I started laughing. "But I'll ask them if they staying, Ma can I ask you a question?"
       "Anything."
"What made you take Kaylee and Brittany in?" I know it was a random question, but I just wanted to know.
"I can see and hear the pain in their voice when they spoke. Being that I had been through something similar when I was younger, I understood. There was a reason that my car had broken down that day. I had to take the train to work, if I wouldn't have ran into them there is no telling where they'd be today."
"Damn, that's crazy. I'm really feeling Kaylee, Ma. She just so shut-down, it’s hard to talk to her and express my feelings to her," I confessed to my mother.
"I’ma just say this son, when you really want something you will make it happen. She's not like the others Rashaan; she's very mature for the age of seventeen. She’s mature because she basically raised her and her sister. She done seen it all. She's one strong female. I know this from the talks we've had. Kaylee is a good person, if you really want to be with her, don't hurt her. It will break her heart. She's been through enough. Make sure you’re serious about it," she stood up from the table and went to check the chicken she was frying.
"Ma I'll be back in a little bit Brittany and I going to hang out with Noshi," Draya came into the kitchen talking. She didn't know I was sitting at the table.
"No y'all not, end of the story. We not about to have this conversation either. Y'all mine as well go put y'all pajamas back on and go read a book or some shit."
"Rashaan watch your mouth and leave my babies alone. Draya and Brittany make sure y'all back before dinner," my mother told them.
"Okay, Ma." They both went running for the front door. I jumped up and took off behind them.
       "Draya!” I yelled after her.
"What," she turned around and put her hands on her hips.
"Your ass ain't t grown. Y'all can fool mommy and whatnot but I'm not dumb. What niggas y'all sneaking off to see and don't fucking lie to me," I said grilling them.
"I don't know what you talking about, we going to Noshi house."
      "Exactly," Brittany boosted on.
"The streets talk, and you know my ear is always to the streets. When I find out I'm deading the shit, so if I were you I'd dead it before I get involved and y'all be embarrassed." I turned my head towards the driveway because I heard a car. It was Julian and Ja’kari. "Remember what the fuck I just said," I walked over to the pick-up truck.
"Brittany little ass can get it," Julian said as we dapped hands.
"She's off limits bro," I shook my head, "Let's go. Move this shit. I got some shit to do later tonight."
      "And what's that?" Ja’kari asked.
"Don't worry about it," I laughed and led the way into the house.
