came. Until finally,
blessedly, she raised her head; his dick continued to twitch until every
blessed drop had been milked from him.
When his body finally stopped twitching,
he found he could breathe again. Aaron looked at her with his heart still
racing, and his breath heaving to fill his lungs with much needed air. Sitting
up, he pulled her down on top of him and kissed her. Drowning himself in both
his taste and hers. “I love you,” he whispered. Knowing, as all Children knew,
he would love his mate. He’d fallen in love with her from the first. For her
big heart, her dedication of his people…because she was meant for him. He loved
her.
She smiled. “And I you.” Suddenly, her
eyes rolled back into her head and she stilled.
At first, he felt shocked, then
remembered something his father told him once about those with viewing,
sometimes it can come upon those with the ability at any time. “What is it?
What’s wrong?”
She pushed off him and stood up.
“Shawnah. She’s in trouble. Hurry, we have to get to her.”
    He sat up. “What?”
“We must hurry.” Without another word,
she ran into the bathroom.
Aaron stood up, using the sheet to wipe
himself off, then zipped and buttoned up his pants. He put his sneakers on,
just as she came out of the bathroom dressed. “What’s going on, babe?”
“I’m not sure, but Shawnah is in danger.
We must hurry.”
He grabbed his wallet and car keys. “Do
you know where she is?”
She stared wide eyed at him, but she
didn’t seem to be looking at him. “Water—nearer the water.”
    “The marina perhaps?”
She blinked. “Yes, near boats. Hurry!”
Without waiting for his reply, she turned and headed toward the door.
He grabbed the bag she’d left on the
chair and followed after her, handing it to her.
She strapped it across her body.
“Do I need to get the car?” he asked.
“No, I think I can find her faster on
foot.” Her gaze was on the elevator when it finally stopped in front of their
floor.
They got on and he pressed the button for
the lobby.
Holding hands, they hurried through the
entrance, but she paused on the sidewalk.
“This way,” he said as he guided her
across the street. They were a couple blocks over from the marina, where they’d
passed the boats docked earlier.
“Yes, yes this is the right direction,”
she stated as she stayed at his side.

    Chapter Nine

She blamed herself. She had become
distracted by Aaron’s nearness, their lovemaking. Blinding her to all else,
otherwise she would have seen it coming. Sienna didn’t know who the men were
who had taken Shawnah, but they were somewhere out on the water. A boat. If so,
they were in her domain now. She sent a call out to the dolphins that remained
nearby to find the boat.
They both stood on the dock at a vacant
berth.
“Here, she was taken here.” Sienna
pointed at the empty spot in the placid water.
“There’s nothing here. What’s going on?”
    “Shawnah has been taken.”
“Taken? By whom? The White Witch. Where?”
She shook her head. “Wait.” She called
the dolphins in the area to see if any had observed what had happened. Two of
them had, and she told Aaron. “Four men forced her on a boat. They are out on
the water. Come. I know where they are. The dolphins have found them.”
They walked to the end of the pier and
glanced around to make sure no one saw them before diving into the murky
channel. Sienna swam fast, a sense of urgency invading her being, just before
she heard the warning cry from a dolphin. “By Poseidon, a sea demon. Faster!”
Yet, no matter how quickly they moved,
they were too late. A creature, the size of one of the landwalker’s office
buildings had risen up from the depths under the boat. All ten of its tentacles
wrapped around it and dragged it under, leaving nothing but churning bubbles in
its wake.
Aaron called forth his powers, creating a
funnel of water with tornado force and tried to blast the
