you doing? I’ve got to get dressed and go home. Then I’ve got to talk to your mom and clear the air, I think she’s got the wrong impression about what is happening here.” Jared tightened his hold on her and ceased her useless struggles.
“Lily, she came in and we were naked in my bed together, we had obviously spent the night making love and now she expects that we’ll be getting married, especially since her grandchild may be involved” He said it casually as his lips traveled her jaw line.
“Grandchild, what grandchild? This has gotten totally out of control. You need to talk to her and explain things” Lily was frantic now. Her panic at being caught was being overwhelmed by the feel of Jared on top of her and his warm breath fanning her face. He stopped to catch her eyes with is now serious ones.
“Are you on any birth control Lily?” Her eyes widened in dawning comprehension and she shook her head in a negative answer. He still held her eyes.
“I don’t think it matters now, I made you pregnant the first time we made love under that old elm tree. I have never in my life forgotten to use protection with a woman and I didn’t forget with you. I wanted you to get pregnant.” He sounded so sure that Lily believed him, she would have to do a pregnancy test to verify it but she didn’t feel the panic she should have felt at the thought.
He sat up and ran a tender hand along her side and squeezed her hip possessively.
“Now get dressed woman so you can have some breakfast, you’re eating for two now and have to keep up your strength”
Jared got out of bed and walked into the shower leaving Lily privately for a minute. She lay still and stared at the ceiling. There was no way she could know that when she left for her walk yesterday afternoon that she would wake up this morning in Jared’s bed. The differences in their relationship between yesterday and today were monumental, they were lovers now and possibly parents and yet the way she felt about him was not any different. Maybe she had always loved him and this was just an added intimacy that finally manifested itself. Even the possibility of impending parenthood was a joyous thought, even if she was no longer with Jared the thought of having a child made up of him brought joy and peace to her.
Her dilemma now was in getting out of the house without anybody else seeing her. How mortifying that Ava would catch her in bed with Jared, people did this sort of thing all the time without getting caught and now Ava was under the impression that she and Jared would marry. She would have to talk to her and set the situation straight. Which was what? That she was willing to sleep with Jared but not willing to marry him, she didn’t want Ava thinking that she was a hussy.
The sound of the water being turned off had Lily hurrying out of bed and scrambling into her rumbled clothes. She had on her dress but was unable to don any underwear; Jared had torn it to useless pieces and later stuffed it into the pocket of her skirt. He exited the bathroom and stopped to stare at the sight she made in her rumpled clothes and ruffled hair and was turned on all over again. He had made love to her four times since the elm tree last night and he wondered at the possibility of it all, no man should be able to rise to the occasion again and no woman had ever made him want to try. Lily did nothing but stand there and it made him want to drag her back to bed and keep her there until neither of them was able to move, but she was sure to be sore and looked like she would bolt if he came any closer. He had to remember that it was not only her first time having sex but it was the first morning after that as well and being caught by Ava hadn’t helped either.
“I’ve got to get home, I’ve been in these clothes since yesterday and you’ve got a long day ahead of
