immediately felt silly for doing so.
“Well seeing as I finally found you,” he began. “Do you mind if we talked?”
“Isn’t that what we are doing right now,” she replied annoyed and trying her best not to get angry at the littlest things.
“You are always the one for a giggle aren’t you,” he replied with a laugh. “No, no dear I mean in person.”
“I don’t think that will work for me,” she replied. “I’m turning in for the night you see.”
“Well I feel like a dunce then,” he said. “Here I thought I would surprise you and shower you will affection.
Christa suddenly heard her door knock loudly and again over her phone a moment later. Her worst fear was now confronting her and she was trapped. She did not know how to handle this situation in person. She felt scared for a moment and ultimately decided that she would confront him. She knew that either she would try to keep it a secret that she knew what he was hiding and end up failing or straight out tell him she knew with the possibility of a better outcome. She walked to her door as she ended her call.

“Adrian,” she said as she opened the door. “How nice to see you.”
“I get the feeling that it isn’t so nice actually,” he replied as he walked in through the doorway. “If it was a bad time, you could have told me you know.”
“Well there are a few things I have to say to you Adrian,” she replied. She hated how astute he was. “Please have a seat.”
“This sounds rather serious,” he said sitting down on her couch. He motioned for her to sit next to him but she remained standing. “Now I’m beginning to question if I showered today.”
“Enough with the dry humor Adrian,” she replied cutting to the chase. “I learned something about you recently that I don’t like one bit.”
“Alright,” he replied. “And what is it you need to get off your chest.”
“I know what you really do with your airline,” she said. “I know that you use it as a front for your trafficking.”
“Trafficking,” he asked confused. “What kind of trafficking do you think I’m involved in?”
“Human trafficking,” she replied. “Young girls specifically.”
“Well that is preposterous,” he said loudly. “What kind of man do you take me for?”
“Apparently the kind of man that sells young women to the highest bidder and still sleeps well at night,” she replied.
“That is absurd,” he said. “That is insane actually. Where did you get this information you are so confident is true?”
“I heard your pilot talking all about it,” she replied. “And from what I’ve pieced together, you are the ring leader.”
“So you think I’m the mastermind of some dastardly human trafficking ring that sells young women into the sex trade,” he said just before laughing loudly. “You do realize how crazy that sounds.”
“I know what I heard,” she replied angrily. “How do you explain Gerald’s conversation about selling the girls to the highest bidder and implicating your involvement?”
“Listen Christa,” Adrian began. “I understand how you must feel right now. If I had just learned someone I cared about was involved in something so sinister I probably would not want to believe their innocence right away either. Especially with the evidence you just presented but I want you to believe me that I have nothing to do with whatever Gerald is involved in.”
“I want to believe you,” Christa said as her anger began to subside. “What proof do you have that you aren’t involved?”
“I don’t have any,” he replied. “I’m asking you to trust me. I need to figure out what is really going on under my nose. I hate the fact that you think I am such a terrible person but I am glad that you brought this to light. I can’t have something like this happening at my company.”
“So what do we do about us then,” Christa asked confused.
“We put everything on hold,” he replied. I cannot be in
