just leave me alone?â
âHe probably really likes you.â
âSo thenâ¦why the other girls?â
âBecause he likes them too.â
âBut Ameen can be honest with me. If he wants to see other people then all he has to do is tell me and Iâll leave him alone.â
âWhat?â she said, confused. âWhy is everything on his terms? Iâm telling you heâs doinâ him, canât you see that? Just bounce. Be out. You always let him use your car, heâs all sleepinâ with you whenever the wind blows, and I hope youâre using condoms.â
âYes we areâas if thatâs any of your business.â
âWhatever, Iâm just sayinâ, you see what your cousin Toi went through after she had her baby. She practically dropped off the earth; donât let the same thing happen to you.â
âYouâre reachinâ.â
âAll Iâm saying is that itâs life beyond Ameen. I understand heâs your first but you really donât have to be this open. Now, I hope you seeing him in here with this chick teaches you a lesson: That your boo ainât all that.â She parked the car. âNow, letâs go. And Iâm telling you, if you take him back after this donât be in my ear about the mess heâs doing to you, âcause I donât wanna hear it.â
âDidnât I tell you I was through with him after this?â
âYou said that the other day too.â
âThis is different.â
âI hope so,â she said as we exited the car and walked into the club. âBut it sure seems to me that your heart got your mind trippinâ.â
The GS Boyzâs âStanky Legâ was blastinâ as we walked into Club Heated. We paid our ten dollars and I could hear the crowd shouting, âGo, Ameen, do the stanky leg!â
Once we were standing next to Courtney, Asha said while pointing to Ameen, âI thought you said this clown was a thug.â
âDonât be judging people, Asha, you donât know. He could be a thug,â Courtney said and pointed to his chest. âIâma thug.â
This whole conversation was ridiculous. âShut up,â I barked at Courtney, as I attempted to walk up behind Ameen and she pulled me back.
âHold up,â Asha said, âletâs see how this plays out for a minute.â
âYou not gonâ tell me to shut up too many more times,â Courtney snapped.
âZsa,â Asha said, âif you go over there now, all he gonâ say is he was dancing with the chick. No, letâs see what he does after the stanky leg.â
I couldnât believe my eyes. Ameen was straight clowinâ. He wouldâve never danced with me like that, yet he was all over this chick.
Hold itâ¦wait⦠I shook my head⦠hold it, does that chick have on the Gucci boots he bought for me? Oh, my God, he gave her my boots?
I swear I wanted to drop a river from my eyes, but I knew if I started crying in here then erâbody up in this spot would think my swagger was weak. No way. When I left this place I needed to be known as no joke.
After a few minutes passed I couldnât take it anymore. I felt like Ameen had opened my heart, sliced it down the middle, and pissed on the inside. I walked over to Ameen and pushed him on the shoulder. He was so busy kissing the girl that either he didnât feel my push or he didnât care to turn around.
So instead of pushing him again, I mushed him in the head.
âWhat theâ¦â He spun around and looked dead in my face. He quickly wiped the lipstick from his lips and spat, âWhat are you doinâ here? Didnât I tell you to stay home?â He pointed his fingers like a gun in my face.
âWho is this bitch, Ameen?â I pointed back into his face. âHuh.â I pushed him. âI thought you were going to church to deliver some dinners?
