school never ends. You just move on to different clicks. Only now whether you play or not effects your salary.”
“That’s funny. I was a cheerleader,” she bubbled.
Of course you were. I rested my elbow on the table and stared into her eyes. They were a mesmerizing shade of blue. Her brown hair curled down over her shoulders. I wanted to reach out and twist it around my fingers. Just once I wanted to have a cheerleader root for me. She’d be perfect on my arm in front of the guys. I wonder. Would Heather say yes or no?
“So I overheard. You guys are going to a con?” She twisted her own lock of hair. “Tell me more about it.”
My heart stopped. My mouth went dry. I searched for a drop of beer from the bottom of my glass. Then I started rambling and I couldn’t stop. “A bunch of nerds dress up in costumes. They walk around a conference room and buy props for their costumes. They stand in line for autographs of men who don’t matter. Pose for pictures with anyone who asks and act like grown idiots.”
“Oh.” She got up to leave.
Don’t let her go fool. Ask her to the con. She wants you to ask her. The little voice in my head screamed.
“Wait.” I locked onto the wrist. My grip was too tight, she flinched tense. “Sorry.” I let go of her sweet soft skin. “Will you go with me? To the con. It’ll be fun and I don’t know if you heard, but I sort of promised to bring a pretty girl. You’re the prettiest one I know.” I tried my best to convince her. She blushed and tucked her hair behind her ears. That’s when that little voice started up again. This time he wasn’t so encouraging. She’s not going to say yes. You’re a dweeb. Why would she go anywhere with you?
“Sounds like fun,” she bubbled. She took her phone out of her apron and set it on the table in front of me. “Enter your number and I’ll call you later for details.”
“It’s next weekend. I have costumes,” I blurted out, entering my digits into her phone. I pushed call and my phone rang in my pocket.
“You’re funny, Jimmy.” Instead of sitting back down, she leaned over the back of a chair. Her cleavage caught my full attention. She quickly thumbed across the screen adding my name to my number “Is space theme okay? My roommate has an alien girl costume. She calls her Venus.” She squeezed my hand. “You’re a superhero. I can be your villain.”
She scurried off to grab a table that’d been eyeing us during our whole conversation. But she said yes . I stared at my phone, flashing a missed call. And I had her number.

Chapter Two

I have to admit I masturbated to Heather’s phone number more than once that week. I may have also stalked her online a tad and used her contact picture as fodder for a few wank offs. But hell, she was a hot cheerleader and I had a date with her. Who’d blame me?
After trying my best to get her address and pick her up for the con, I finally relented and agreed to meet her in the parking structure of the hotel where the con was located.
I recognized from ten cars away. She was wearing a silver and blue armored mini dress. She wasn’t wearing tights like I requested, but her legs were flawless.
    “Heather, my Venus.”
“Oh Mr. Cold. Don’t freeze me,” she squealed, palming her cheeks.
“It’s Captain Cold.” I slung my water gun turned hero gun over my shoulder. “I won’t use this unless I have to.”
She giggled and caressed down the front of my leather jacket. “You look good.”
Our costumes were obviously switched. I thought I was frozen. She hooked her arm around mine and tugged me out of my delusional stupor from her beauty.
    “Are we going in?”
The longer we walked around the vast room of nerds and vendors, the less I wanted to run into Leo and the other guys from work. Every hint of a rebel pilot jacket in the distance had me turning around the other way. I had Heather all to myself and didn’t really want to share. While I was considering a droid
