the deputy head, Roberta Simonds, would have hung, drawn and quartered us.
“I still think there is a camera hidden in that ventilator, would one of you call the caretaker down here, I want him to take it apart and check it out.”
Rachel ran off to find Joe Mason while we sat with Miss Epps. Ten minutes later, she came back with Joe who was clutching a box of tools and carrying a small ladder. He kept a very low profile these days, it was funny to see his stricken expression when he caught sight of us. His face was garishly feminine, he looked as if he was wearing lipstick and mascara.

“Thanks for coming, Joe, would you remove all of the ventilator grilles in the changing room and the shower rooms, see if anything is hidden behind there. We think some pervert has hidden cameras there and is filming the girls in the showers, it’s disgusting.”
He shook his head, as if to say ‘what kind of scum would do something like that’, then rummaged in his toolbox and found some small tools and started work. Miss Epps spoke quietly. “The head was worried about him when we saw he had started wearing makeup. It’s obvious that underneath he thinks he is female, there’s no other explanation. She sent him to see the school psychologist who started him on a course of female hormones while he resolves his gender problems.

We looked at each other. If that wasn’t revenge I didn’t know what was, the hormones would certainly put paid to his male sex urges, and he wouldn’t be fantasizing over pornographic pictures of schoolgirls again. He gave a shout, he’d taken down a grille and found a camera.
“Rip it out,” Jessica said. “I want you to check everywhere and get rid of them all.”
It took him an hour before he’d found the lot, five cameras in all.
“Thanks, Joe,” Jessica said to him. “You’ve done a good job, if there is anything I can do for you, you know, to help you with your problem, let me know.”
He mumbled a reply and left.
“The psychologist thinks he should start to dress in women’s clothing to satisfy his inner female self,” she said. “He looks a bit silly with the makeup, neither male nor female. We’d have a female caretaker, that would be nice, wouldn’t it?”
We had to restrain ourselves from falling about laughing. It was hard to imagine anyone less female than Joe Mason. He should have thought hard before he played with obscene pictures of schoolgirls.

We helped Jessica to the school nurse, who took over her care, she had a bad bump and bruise on her head. Our search for the person who placed the video cameras had just narrowed to one person, Roberta Simonds, the deputy head. But we had to make certain.
“Should we confront her about it?” Lisa asked. “Just go in and make her admit it?”
Rachel shook her head. “It's not a good plan, if it is her and she is found out she’ll lose her job, her career and probably wind up in prison. No, she’ll deny it and make it much harder for us to catch her. We need to think of something else.”
“What about the emails,” I said. “Yvonne, have you had any luck there?”
She shook her head. “When the school server went back online they’d installed a temporary router, the security is hard to break. I think it was borrowed from a defense installation, the school IT company has contracts with the defense industry as well as with schools like ours. We need to wait until the old router is put back in, I can hack that one no problems.

We were almost back to square one.
“At least we got rid of the cameras in the changing rooms,” Lisa said. “We can all feel a lot safer about that.”
Emma grinned. “You mean we can fuck each other without anyone else watching?”
Well, yes, I guess that was exactly what she meant, it was what we all wanted.
“I’ve got an idea,” Emma continued. “Let’s take a shower to celebrate.”
She looked at each of us. “I can see by your smiles that you think
