Kyle Collins.”
Ok, I didn’t want to admit that I’d never met Monty in person. I had come across his profile on a social site when his tiny thumbnail photo caught my eye. I clicked, and whoa…I had to keep from drooling. The guy was smoking hot in an earthy, rugged way.
I sent a friend request which he’d accepted, and we’d been texting and chatting for a while now. Why not? It’s not like Kyle and I were in a committed relationship.
Monty and I clicked and I felt like we’d been friends for years. We had so much in common. I couldn’t wait to meet him in person, and tonight I finally would. He had taken a two week vacation from work and was driving from North Carolina to visit me and spend the next few days in Frederick. Then he planned to spend another week in D.C. exploring the Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, museums and other attractions.
Kyle grimaced. “Is he tall with dark hair, a straggly mustache and beard, and a dumb look on his face?”
“Kyle! Don’t be mean. He’s deliciously scruffy, not straggly… and yeah, he’s tall and dark.” I followed Kyle’s gaze to the entry of the Bite Me.
“It looks like he’s here,” Kyle muttered.
Oh my God! I’d heard of people from online dating sites using other people’s pictures or deceptive photos of themselves to get people interested in them. They made themselves look hot when they actually weren’t. But that wasn’t the case with Monty. He looked just as handsome in person as he did in his photo. He was all that and a bag of chips. A thatch of thick, dark hair framed a ruggedly handsome face, and his body… Even in his clothes, I could see he was made of twisted steel and sex appeal. I licked my lips as I imagined that steel buck naked and twisted inside me.
He was looking a little lost. I couldn’t help myself and I rushed towards him. It was so awesome to see him in the flesh.
    “Monty!”
A smile lit up his face as he recognized my voice from the phone calls we’d had and he spotted me. He walked quickly towards me and scooped me up in a big hug, holding me tightly for a moment before letting go.
“Angie…Angel Sue. You look like an angel.” I could feel Monty’s eyes roaming my body and taking in my curves. I was average height for a woman with an overly generous belly, breasts, and hips. He’d seen my pictures so he knew I wasn’t Ms. Skinny Minnie. It was obvious he liked what he saw as his grin grew wider. I’m happy with my curves and I don’t need anybody’s approval, but it still felt good to see his pleasure. As he leaned in to hug me again, I could smell his cologne; a mixture of wood, amber, and bergamot. Even though he was in his man, through the scent I could smell the essence of his bear—strong, determined, and fierce. He was delicious.
For a moment I felt shy, but Monty put me at ease right away.
“Let’s see it?”
I didn’t have to ask, I knew what he wanted to see. I pulled the top of my shirt part way down my shoulder, revealing my angel wings tattoo. It was in honor of my sweet Granny and namesake Angel Harper, the woman who had raised me and my sister Missy after my mom deserted us.
    “I love it…so sexy. You’re so sexy.”
“Oooh la! You are such a sweet talker.” I could see this was going to be a good night—a really good night. “Let’s get you a drink,” I said leading my prize over to my seat at the bar.
The other seats were taken so I offered mine to Monty; he’d had a long drive after all.
“Let’s share.” He sat down on the stool and scooped me up with his right hand, pulling me onto his lap. Wrapping his arm securely around my waist he whispered in my ear, “You fit just right.”
Kyle moved over towards us, his eyes narrowed into thin slants. “What do you want to drink?” he asked gruffly.
“Monty, this is Kyle,” I said. “Kyle’s a good friend and a top notch bartender. He makes a mean Howling Martini and pours a frosty glass of beer.”
    “And Kyle, this
