Chapter One

    Julian never thought he would hear those words from her.
He stared at Sophia across the dining table, barely breathing,
barely comprehending what she had just said.
    But I want you to do it. Not the machine. I want
you.
    She wanted him. Wanted him to touch her, taste her,
take her. Julian's eyes lowered from her quivering lips, down the
curves of her body. He was aware that he was breathing rapidly
through his mouth, to try to get enough oxygen to his brain. He
couldn't breathe fast enough, couldn't wait to take her fast enough.
From the very first moment he saw her, he had wanted her. Wanted her
so bad it was a physical ache, an ache the pounded into his very
core. But he couldn't have her. In the name of science and his
work, he had to resist his desire and his urges. He had her in his
house, under his roof, sleeping in the room just opposite his every
night. He had never struggled so hard. He never had to. He had
never wanted anyone this badly, this painfully, in more than half a
decade. To relief his mounting passion which was consuming him
alive, he had allowed his fantasies to play out only in the privacy
of his bedroom. He had imagined her beautiful, naked body in his
bed, writhing and moaning beneath him, and he had tried to get his
rock hard erection under control.
    And Sophia had caught him in the act.
    She had walked in on him, walked right up to the edge of
his bed as he lay there trying to relieve his painful erection which
was driving him out of his mind and whispering her name. But—she
hadn't flinched. That amazing, strong, incredibly sweet woman had
stood silently in his bedroom, by the side of his bed, and watched
him. When he opened his eyes and realized that he was not
hallucinating, he had covered himself in a hurry but instead of shock
or fear, he had seen only a gentle understanding and warmth on her
face. When he pulled her into his arms, she had leaned in to him,
accepting and trusting his touch. This woman was just so
irresistible, so unshakable, and yet so fragile. And she never
failed to surprise him.
    He had just told her that the next stage of his research
on human sexuality would involve cunnilingus being performed on her.
The deed could be done by the sex machine, or...by a person.
    He had expected his announcement to be met with
rejection, apprehension, tears and fears. Instead, her response was
clear and simple: I want you.
    It threw him entirely off balance.
    Julian only realized how long he had been staring at
her, when she suddenly lowered her gaze and muttered, “If
you...d-don't want to do it...”
    How could he not want her?
    How could she even think that?
    “ Sophia. Don't you know how much I want you?”
he said through gritted teeth. “I've wanted to put my mouth on
you for so long. I've dreamed and I've fantasized and I've struggled
so hard. To have my lips directly on you, on the most intimate part
of your body. The thought is enough to drive me out of my mind. I
want you. And I don't think I can wait.” Desire coursed
through his veins like molten lava, straight to his groin. He wanted
her naked and he wanted to taste her now. His chair toppled behind
him as he stood. “I want to do it to you. Right. Now!”
he growled.
    Julian saw Sophia's eyes widen and a whimper escaped
from her pretty mouth as he pulled her up forcefully from her seat.
He stormed out of the kitchen, gripping her tightly by the wrist and
took the stairs two at a time. Sophia was gasping and twisting
feebly in his grip, but her small sounds and shivering inflamed him
even more. He pushed through the door to his home laboratory, and
turned to face Sophia. She looked up at him, her soft, pink lips
parted and her breath coming quick and shallow. He could see the
expectation and the tiniest trace of fear in her large, doe eyes.
She was trembling with excitement and anticipation, expecting so much
of him yet not knowing what to expect at all.
