attention on her. The only thing he thought would be a problem was her sister, nephew, and friends, but he hoped, if he pressed further, he could convince her. “We can always have something small at home later with your sister, nephew, and friends.”
Gordon knew he had her when she nibbled on her bottom lip and gazed down at her ring. “How long have you had this? You know it’s perfect, right?”
“I’ve had it for about a week.”
“But we’ve only been dating for over five weeks. Oh. My. God. This is crazy.”
“I knew after the first week. And we have been friends for months.” Gathering her hands in his, he stared into her eyes. “What do you say?”
    “Okay,” she whispered.
He knew he needed to act now before she changed her mind. Dawn wasn’t a snap decision kind of person. “Let’s go. I’ll call my friend David.”

Dawn couldn’t believe what she was doing. She stared at Gordon as a celebrant married them. After only having enough time to have a quick introduction to his friend, David, who had picked them up in a limo, he took them to a little chapel where she was ushered in and given paperwork to fill out. Then she was taken away to change into a dress. Dawn decided to stay in what she was wearing. She wasn’t really a white dress girl. She added some flowers and redid her hair and makeup, and then came out to Gordon where she now stood.
“Repeat after me. I, Dawn Ramsey, take Gordon Wilks…” The celebrant spoke, and she repeated his words on a shaky breath. Gordon followed, but his vows were clear and sure. “You may now kiss your bride.”
Startled it was all over, she took a moment to respond to Gordon’s kiss. Then she let herself go, fusing her mouth to his, taking what was now officially hers. Gordon’s lips left hers, and he moved her to his side. David came over, and Dawn studied him this time. He was about the same age as Gordon, but that was where the similarities ended. He was a redhead and radiated power and money. His suit looked expensive, and his eyes were shrewd and he seemed almost hard. A shiver of unease made its way down her back as he stared at her. She needed to be nice though. This was Gordon’s friend. His best friend, supposedly.
“We haven’t had a proper introduction.” He held his hand out as his eyes scanned me from head to toe. She told herself not to shrink back at his assessment, but it was hard. “I’m David Blamey.”
Dawn took David’s hand, shaking it. He had a strong firm shake. “Nice to meet you. I’m Dawn Ramsey.”
“Wilks,” he corrected in a harsh, no-nonsense voice.
“I beg your pardon?” Feeling uncomfortable, she looked around for Gordon and found him talking to the celebrant.
“Wilks. Gordon’s last name is Wilks. You will be taking his name?”
Crap, Dawn hadn’t thought that far ahead. She hadn’t thought about this at all. She was never this impulsive. Oh, she suddenly felt sick. Darting her gaze around, she found what she needed. “Excuse me.” Not waiting for a response, she practically ran to the bathroom.
Going to the basin, she stared at herself in the mirror before turning her gaze down to her rings, holy shit. It fit perfectly and was better than anything she could have wished for. Her wedding band was curved with diamonds and black rubies alternating. The engagement ring was a decent size with black rubies surrounded by diamonds. Where did Gordon get the money to buy something like this? He’d told her he had savings but had he blown it all on her? The rings were amazing and suited her. Gordon knew what she liked.
She gazed back at the mirror. Gordon knew her. He loved her? She’d done the right thing? She went back over his proposal, groaning when she thought how he hadn’t actual said he loved her. Only that he’d fallen. Did that mean he’d fallen in love with her? She needed to stop thinking it over, or she’d go crazy. Taking a deep breath, she walked back out to go find
