sure he knew exactly what was coming next.
    “Yeah….”
“And I... nevermind. I’m being ridiculous.” I was getting ready to crawl off of his lap but his hands locked on my thighs, keeping me in place.
“Ma, must I remind you that you’re grown as fuck. If you want some dick, just ask for it.”
How he constantly made me feel like the younger one I wasn’t sure, but that didn’t stop me from placing an order for the PreGame Ritual.

    Good luck, ma.
Damnnn, Ava. You crossed the fuck outta her.
Yeahhh, baby! 10/10 from the free throw line. That’s my girl.
Good game, boo. I’m so proud of you. Text me when you can.
I miss you, ma. Can’t wait ‘til you get back.
I sat in the locker room after our victory, grinning from ear-to-ear for multiple reasons. The PreGame Ritual wasn’t bullshit. I played the game of my life. And Miles was freakin’ adorable with his texts even though he knew I wouldn’t see them until after the game.
I sat on one of the benches, shooting a quick reply: Thanks, Miles. I kinda-sorta-in-a-way-maybe miss you too. I’ll call you on the bus.
His reply seemed to come instantly as if he already had it typed out.
Miles: You sure you wanna do that? Don’t wanna get you in trouble for moanin’ if I start talkin’ dirty. ;)
    Ava: You are SO crazy.
Miles: Matter of fact, send me a pic of somethin’ to hold me over ‘til you get back.
I looked around before I pulled my shirt up and snapped a quick pic of my basketball tattoo before I sent it off and headed to the bus.
Miles: Damn, I know EXACTLY where that’s at too. Now my dick is hard. Thanks a lot, ma.
Ava: You’re welcome. See you soon. :)
The bus ride was only a couple hours but I wanted to go home and freshen up before I met up with Miles for a little night cap. I walked into my apartment and it smelled like burnt hair and oil sheen spray. I heard some cackling coming from the back and had a pretty good idea who it was.
Avery and her dumb ass friend.
I didn’t have anything against Erica, it was just that she and Avery were grossly alike. They were most likely getting primed and prepped for a night out on the town. It used to sound intriguing, but now I wanted nothing more than to spend the night in the arms of my - not my, but kinda like my - man.
I walked past Avery’s bedroom door, not bothering to announce myself. As I was passing by, I caught the tail-end of their conversation.
“Girl, you know that’s my man. Why are you still sweatin’ him?”
“Ummm probably because he dumped your ass preparing for an upgrade...meaning me.”
“Whatever. I heard he’s been chasing after one of those basketball bitches anyway.”
“Gross. They’re all ugly...or gay. He’ll come to his senses when he sees me tonight.”
“You don’t know Miles like I do, Avery. He’s smarter than he looks. I don’t even know if he’ll be there tonight.”
    Hold on.
    They’re talking about Miles?
    Erica dated Miles?
“And you’re saying I’m not smart, Erica? Look, I know you’re still a little salty about missin’ your meal ticket, but hey...I gotta eat too.”
“You are sooo lucky I like you, bitch.”
I didn’t wanna overreact so instead of busting in on their little girl’s party, I continued on to my room. I took a quick shower, threw on some clothes and headed out before Avery could even notice I was there.
On the short drive to Miles’s dorm, I tried to ignore the urge to overthink this new information. It shouldn’t have been a big deal that Miles dated Erica but I couldn’t fathom the idea of him being legitimately attracted to her and to me. We were totally different. Like... totally different. Where I was relatively tall for a girl, she was damn near a midget. She had normal black hair to my fire red hair. I had a little curve to me but Erica was all curves. She was the nail appointment, hair appointment, wax appointment every week type of girl, while I had three hairstyles; ponytail,
