had phenomenal sex. How she makes me feel speeds up my entire system.
I’m looking up at the ceiling wondering how I’ll make it another day without telling her my exact feelings. I know it’s way too soon, I don’t want to scare her off again.
“Sorry about the other day. I was such a bitch.” She snaps me out of my thoughts.
I never expected her to apologize. Feels pretty good, though. “Don’t worry about it. It’s over.”
Her head pops up from my chest. “How can you get over it so quickly?”
“Life is too short and beautiful. Gotta live in the now, Baby.” That’s how I have always been. I was brought up in a family where we lived each day like it was our last, and was taught not to dwell on things that are impossible to fix.
“You’re right about one thing. Life is too short. My parents were killed when I was twenty.” She lays her head back down and rubs my stomach.
I feel really bad for Melody. She lost her parents at the same time and then having to raise her sister. I’m sure it brought on a lot of stress and was extremely hard for her. I can’t imagine what she must have gone through. “Really sorry about your parents.” I lightly play with her hair. “That’s why you gotta live in the now.” She lifts herself up, then leans into me and devours my mouth. I must have touched a tender spot she needed tending to. I want to give her that all the time. I yawn after we kiss. It’s close to midnight. “Tired, Sweetness. Time for me to get some shut eye.”
“I’ll let you sleep, then. See you later.” She starts to leave the bed.
Wait, what ?I grasp onto her waist before she disappears from my bed. I’m not ready for her to leave. “No. I want you to stay the rest of the night.”
“That’s not a good idea, Wayne.”
“Why? Afraid of falling in love with me?” I wink.
    “Stop,” sounding upset.
“Give me a reason, then.” I force her to straddle her naked self over my dick and to look at me while I hold her face in my hands. “I want you here, in my bed, in my arms. Give me one reason why you don’t want the same?”
It takes her a couple seconds to think about it. She finally shrugs and says, “I don’t know why.”
That’s what I thought. “Then get yourself back over by my side.” She doesn’t make up anymore excuses. She nods her head and climbs inside the bed with me. I wrap us up in the blankets and curl my front against her back. Love having us naked together, it’s awesome. I kiss the back of her left shoulder and breathe her scent in. “Love to feel your body close to mine. You always smell so good and your skin is always silky.”
    “Coconut oil.”
    “Fucking love it, Baby.”
I yawn one more time and make sure Melody doesn’t leave my bed. I hold her tightly and never wanting to let her go, then fall right to sleep. Happy and content.
I stir awake from an emptiness. Melody isn’t in bed with me. Almost thinking she left when I was sleeping, I faintly hear the sound of an acoustic guitar strumming from the guest bedroom. I look at my phone and it says it’s three in the morning. I pull on a pair of gym shorts and go see what’s going on. The door is slightly ajar as I peek inside. Melody is sitting on the floor, legs crossed, holding my guitar dressed only in my black long sleeved shirt. Her back is facing me so I can’t see what she looks like as she’s playing. I had no idea she could play. There is so much about her I don’t know; we are more alike than I thought. As I watch her, I hear her whispering to herself, saying how horrible her playing is. She keeps swearing, stops playing, then tries again. She may not be a pro at playing, but she definitely has something there. Maybe she’ll allow me to help her?
I slowly walk in when Melody gets frustrated again and puts the guitar down. “Hey,” I say.
She jumps from my interruption. “Fuck!” She stands up with her hand over her chest. “You scared me. I didn’t mean to wake you.
