angel. I’m pretty sure everyone else thinks of you
as an angel as well. You’re a very special girl, you know. I love
you for that. I’m pretty sure that Adrian feels the same way,”
James answered as he gritted his teeth at the last sentence. So
that sparkle was jealousy. James was jealous of Adrian. I can’t
even believe it; James was jealous of someone, let alone Adrian.
Why? Does he not know that Adrian means nothing to me?
    “ James, it’s really not
like that and you know it. I’m all yours, James. I lo—,” I started,
but James silenced me with that sweet kiss of his, swallowing my
last words. After all, practice does make everything perfect,
doesn’t it? I don’t know what will happen to our relationship but I
guess I’ll just have to wait and see. Meanwhile, I can still
practice. Practice makes perfect

chapter 7
    can you keep a secret?

    Blue or Green? Blue or
Green? I couldn’t get it right. Those hurtfully beautiful eyes
flashed across my mind a few seconds earlier and it stayed there
five whole seconds longer. So much more improvement. I just
couldn’t get the color of them right.
    As I walked into health
class, I saw that there was a new student and on top of that, James
and Adrian weren’t there. This was just great! Mr. Moore beckoned
me towards him and I obeyed.
“Ah, Mrs. Ross! As you can
see, we have a new student, again. His name is Lucifer. What an
unusual name, but who am I to judge? Anyways, you two will be
sitting in the back of the room, alone, and you will fill him in on
what we have been learning about so far,” Mr. Moore ordered. Okay,
this was not weird at all. I tried to calm myself down but
something kept prodding at the back of my mind.
    Lucifer was the angel that
was cast out of heaven for his pride and he had a lot to begin
with. No other normal person would be rational enough to name their
child that. Then, who was he?
I walked over to the back
of the room to find him there, waiting for me patiently. I sat down
and turned to face him and ceased. He was already staring at me,
smirking.
    Lucifer was
heart-stoppingly beautiful. Like very pretty; I didn’t even know if
that term applied to guys. He had beautiful wavy amber hair that
was about chin length and had crystal blue eyes that would bore
into your soul. He had broad shoulders and was pretty muscular, but
he’s more pretty than muscular. He was so gorgeous; I didn’t even
think he was human.
    “Well, hello there,
Rosie,” Lucifer smiled at me. Okay, people really needed to stop
with the nicknames. “Long time, no see.”
“Um . . . My name is Rose
and this is the first time we’ve met. Ever,” I corrected
him.
    “That’s what you think.
Anyways, I know your name is Rosemarie, but I’ll be opting for
Rosie. If that’s okay with you?” he questioned.
    “Actually, it’s—,”I
started, but he cut me off.
    “Excellent. So you like
the pet name Rosie. So what will we be talking about? By the way,
you look really hot in that dress,” Lucifer remarked as my cheeks
blazed scarlet. Who is this guy? He reminded me of James, a lot.
Lucifer had the same blue eyes and even commented on my dress the
same way as James had the first time he saw me in the dress.
Lucifer inched closer to me and I inched back. I was not his pet.
His attitude sickened me.
    The rest of the period
went on in boredom. I filled him in on everything that had happened
and all that stuff while he just stared at me and smirked. At last,
I headed towards my locker, finally free from all that
nonsense.
    “So, Rosie, maybe we
should go out sometimes,” Lucifer stated coolly as vibes of
confidence rolled off him. I just met him and I had a
boyfriend.
    “I have a boyfriend,” I
said, slightly smiling to myself.
    “Oh yeah? Who is he?”
Lucifer asked he rolled up the sleeves off his shirt to his elbows.
He looked like he was ready for a fight. I rolled my eyes at him
and his smirk grew to the point where he could no longer
smirk.
    “His name
