else?
“Have you got a spell ready? You know exactly what you’re going to do?” He shifted back and forth on his feet and dug his hands into his pockets.
Okay, maybe he wasn’t as confident as she’d thought he was. This was so not good. “Uh-huh.” A whisper was all she could get out.
    “Well, do you?”
She was nervous enough without having him badger her. “I said I did.” She cringed, hating the strident tone of her voice and covered by tugging at the form-fitting skirt and blouse she’d thrown on. The blouse revealed an ample amount of her cleavage, maybe too much, and for the hundredth time, she considered changing. But time had run out.
Keep your mind on the plan and off him. “When you distract him, I’ll cast the hex to make him forget he’s a vampire. I don’t think the spell will last more than a couple of days, but that should be long enough.”
“How will I know when you’re ready to make your move?” He came behind her, his ocean-blue eyes raking over her image in the mirror.
“I’ll give you a signal like this.” She tugged on the lobe of her left ear.
“Okay. Got it. When you tug on your ear, I’ll cause a distraction.”
She shot him a questioning look.
“No, Mari. I’m not changing into a wolf in front of a shitload of cameras. We want to distract people, not have them run out in a panic.”
“Too bad. I’d like to see Tucker the Wolf again.”
    “That can be arranged. Privately.”
“Then what kind of distraction are you planning?”
“A small one. But be quick. I doubt it’ll throw him off for long.”
She turned around and ended up with her breasts against his hard chest. Oh, my.
The fire he’d already started inside her burned brighter as his gaze locked on to hers. He took her by the arms, holding her close and trapping her between his granite body and the dresser.
“You look incredible.” He brushed a strand of hair from her cheek, then brought his lips closer. “I wish we had time.”
His breath, warm on her skin, scrambled her brain. Unable to do otherwise, she stared into his eyes and tried to breathe normally. “Time for what?”
The corners of his mouth lifted. “Come on, darlin’. You know what.”
Of course she knew. Hadn’t she thought the very same thing? In fact, she’d done nothing else but think about the previous day’s escapades from the moment they’d parted. He’d taken a starring role in her dreams, too. She glanced at the chair, a duplicate of the one in his room, the one where she’d held him captive, and had to resist licking her lips.
    “Are you sure—”
“Am I sure we don’t have time?” Tucker traced his thumb over her bottom lip. “Yeah, I’m sure. Except for maybe a little of this.” He took her head in both hands, holding her still as he pressed his lips to hers. She inhaled, drawing in the fragrance of a musky aftershave along with a scent she couldn’t define. Suddenly, she remembered the way his fangs looked, the way they’d felt on her skin, and she slipped her arms under his to grip his back.
The kiss was soft at first as he teased her with a lick, then a nibble. But she needed more, wanted to give him more. Unable to stand the teasing a second longer, she leaned her head back and plunged her tongue inside his mouth, demanding he give her what she needed. He groaned, enveloping her in his arms to leave no space between them. He sucked on her tongue, then lightly bit her upper lip.
Taking her breast, he fondled her, finding her taut nipple through the material of her blouse. He massaged the hard nub, stroking her and stoking her fire.
She melted into him, pushing her pelvis against the bulge beneath the denim. Moaning, she took his hand from her left breast, then slid it under the top of her blouse, under her bra to find the nipple of her other breast.
A growl rumbled in his chest and throat, and for a moment she wondered if the wolf was free. If she looked into his eyes, would she see amber
