where the fracture is. Thank fuck. I was worried about how that would work with one fuckin leg. I keep pushing it out of my head, now I have some time to see how this is going to work.
With us both on crutches, we make it up the ramp and into the house. I move back and lean on the wall to laugh. Mandy is in shock, making me laugh more. Danny and CJ are just smiling at her. "It was a lot of work for you to leave behind, the doctor said you need to be comfortable so Danny and Cloud made sure you were." CJ tells her, holding her hand.
She looks at Danny, "Unfuckinbelievable. Thank you."
"There's some things that are different. Your bathroom and closet are redesigned. The extra room is on the spare side; I made it an office. The basement is finished, you can see it when you can make it down there. There's a temporary gym in one bay of the garage, PT will come here for that, Bob; Aleena is your therapist. You're running completely solar, John from Baxter's will handle maintenance on that. Cameras surround the house, there are none inside. If you need help, you get to the keypad or out the door where a camera can pick you up. Yeah?"
She's watching him nervously now. "Yeah. Are we in danger here?"
"Surveillance is heavy here. Security is 24/7. If you weren't safe, we wouldn't be either. You're safe here, when you go back to work you'll have a guard with you. You know how that works. You have two safe rooms but I'll show them to you another day." Danny says.
Amanda
I nod. "Yeah." Fuck, for the first time I realize someone was trying to kill me or Bob or both.
His arms go around me. "We're going to be safe here, Mandy." I put my arm on his feeling his muscles, he'll keep me safe. I nod, looking up at him with a smile.
"Brother, I don't need to give you a tour, you know where everything is. I put a bar above your bed so you can get up easier. When it isn't needed you can take it down or change it to something new." He's smiling, I laugh. "Mitch said we didn't need HA throughout because you wouldn't be in a chair; the bar, closet and bathroom are your only concessions. You need something added you tell me. Yeah?"
"Yeah, thanks, Brother."
"Guys meet in the patio after nine. We use it to regroup or just unwind. You're welcome to come over if you're up to it." He slaps Bob's shoulder as he guides CJ out.
"Thank you!" I say as the door is closing. "He's a little crazy, isn't he?"
Bob laughs, pulling me into him. "I fuckin love his crazy. He's always been the scariest mother or the guy that would literally move earth to keep his friends and family happy and safe. I'm fuckin ecstatic we fall into the friend category."
"Yeah. Let's go check it out and be freaked together." I reposition the crutches and move away looking at my stuff in a bigger area but exactly the same. I have a laundry room outside the mud room. I love it!
I open a drawer finding my clothes in my dresser. Fuckin creepy as hell but sweet too. "Babe, you need to come in here." I follow his voice to the bathroom.
"Holy shit! I never saw a claw foot tub that big. Look at this place. This is fuckin crazy cool."
He laughs. "There's a bar for me in shower." I look and see it hanging from the ceiling, it's just a grab bar really, but I feel the tears fall. They thought of everything to make him comfortable but it's all understated. They love him enough to give him his space and the tools he needs to get used to a new way of living. They're better than family. I hug him, happy to be right here with him. "Love the fuckin Brotherhood." He says squeezing me.
I smile. Me too.
Bob
Doc and Sally come to change bandages. Sally takes Amanda to the bedroom while Doc sits me at the table. "How are you doing, Bob?"
"I'm good, Doc."
He shakes his head. "You're like Danny, Steve and Jess, I can't read minds and I need to know what the
