me.”

“Well, you should make things clear,” David said. “Beth isn’t thrilled with the idea of you fooling around behind Katy’s back and you certainly don’t want her to be giving Katy ideas about you being unfaithful.”

Andrew’s face reddened with anger. “I most certainly haven’t been unfaithful to Katy,” he said.

“Whoa, slow down,” David said. “I didn’t mean to say that you have been. I’m just saying that Beth is worried about where things might go.”

Andrew didn’t respond. He stared out into the sea of masked faces.

David put his hand on Andrew’s shoulder. “It’s time to make a decision,” he said.

David turned around and walked away. Andrew picked up the champagne glasses but didn’t move. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before he walked back out into the sea of people. He approached Katy and smiled.

“Here is your drink,” he said as he extended his arm with the glass.

Katy smiled at him but he looked right past her.

Andrew’s heart dropped when the rhinestone of a mask across the room caught his eye. He looked closer and spotted Isabel lifting up her mask to take a drink of her champagne.

“Andrew?” Katy asked. “Are you alright?”

He jumped. “Yes, of course,” he said.

She touched her hand and laughed. “Well, you can put your hand back now,” she said. “I have taken the glass.”

He looked down and realized that he had been frozen in place. He knew that he probably looked like a fool but he instantly forgot about all of that. He looked back at Isabel. He had never seen such a beauty woman before in his life. It was like he was seeing her for the first time.

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

“Well, I didn’t think that I would see you again anytime soon, Isabel. I am glad that I did though. You look absolutely gorgeous,” he said.

She blushed. “Thank you,” she replied.

“I have never seen a dress like that before,” he said. “It’s truly breathtaking. You were the first woman that I noticed in the room.”

“You are too much,” she said. ‘But thanks.”

“I am being serious. That dress is fantastic. I can only assume that you designed it yourself,” he said.

“Indeed, I did,” she replied. “In fact, I even sewed it. Somewhat successfully.”

He smiled. “Is there anything that you can’t do?” he asked.

Isabel laughed. She smiled as she saw Cara approaching them. “This is the one who actually finished it for me,” she said. “I may know a thing or two about designing but Cara is truly the master of execution.”

Cara bowed and giggled. “What can I say? I am pretty amazing at it,” she said.

    They laughed.

“Well, Mr. Jenaeu,” Cara said as she looked over at him. “It’s a pleasure to see my favorite media manager out on the town.”

He smiled. “Please, call me Marc,” he said. “It’s good to see you too. It’s been ages. Your friend here went on a couple of dates with me then fell off of the face of the earth. I didn’t expect to see either of you.”

Cara laughed. “She is a fickle one, isn’t see?” she asked. “But don’t blame her. I have had her tied up in the design studio. She only gets to leave once a month.”

“And that’s only if I am lucky,” Isabel added.

Marc laughed. “Well, I am definitely glad that you could make it out tonight,” he said. “This is actually a really great event. I normally hate having to go to these kinds of things but I’ve been having a really great time here. Even more so now, of course.”
Cara smiled. “Me too,” she said. “We have been having a great time.”

“What brings you two here anyway?” he asked. “I would avoid these things altogether if my work didn’t send me. They are always looking for good publicity.”

Cara and Isabel were silent for a moment.

“The host is an old friend of my family.
