so
happy." I got teary eyed my baby boy was in love. You have no idea how I
stressed over his love life or lack thereof; my girls I didn't worry about;
Stacy had her Emory and Carol had her Jason and as young as those two were you
just knew they were in it for the long-haul, but my boy, my Colton, oh I've
spent many a day worrying about him. He just never seemed to want to settle
down and some of the stories I've heard about his exploits made me despair of
him ever getting serious about any one female. I mean by the time his father
and I were his age we were already married with three kids. Let’s not talk
about his little thing with that viper Jennifer, I’d bitten my togue and bided
my time throughout that whole ordeal and thank heaven that debacle was over.
     When Char first told
me a few short months ago about her dream that Colton was going to meet the
girl he was to marry I never doubted it for a second; Char's dreams were
usually pretty accurate in fact sometimes they were downright scary how on
point they were. To have met the girl and actually love her like my own was an
added bonus; I would've tried to accept whomever he brought home but it's good
that I actually love Katarina for who she is and not just because she's the one
my son chose. She's a little young by today's standards but so what; she's
smart, kind and sweet and when I see those two together you can feel the heat
in the air. I couldn't ask for more for my boy.
"I wonder why that scamp hasn’t told me he was buying a
ring." That was a bit of a letdown, not that I had to have a say, I
would've just liked to be in on it.
"Maybe because you have a big mouth and he knows you'd blab
and maybe just maybe it's a surprise."
"What do you mean I never blab; what a thing to say; besides
it's a mother's right. Now tell me what did it look like?"
    "Big."
"Ooh, big is good." I looked at my own rock that Daniel
had given me all those years ago and was amazed at the pleasure I still got
from seeing it there. I hope my new soon to be daughter in law got as much
pleasure from hers.
    "Oh..."
"Shit El, I didn't tell you this to make you cry; now you're
making me tear up."
"I know, I'm sorry but our boy has grown up and he's getting
married and pretty soon oh my word Char do you know what this means, I'm gonna
be a grandma soon?"
"Can they at least get married first?"
"I have to get started on the venues and stuff; secretly of
course, oh this is going to be so exciting. I hope no one has the dates Kat
chooses, oh well, if someone does we'll just boot them out their slot. Nothing
is going to stand in my boy’s way."
"You've lost your damn mind and what do you mean bump someone
out of their slot that's not nice it's their day too you know."
"Screw that, if my boy wants it it's his I didn't wait this
long for this day only to be trumped by some monster bride princess wanna be oh
hell no. This wedding is going to go off without a hitch and you're gonna help
me plan it."
"Elena babe, you've finally lost it, first of all the kids
haven't even become engaged as yet, maybe Kat has different ideas for her
wedding day and you know damn well Colton is going to give that girl whatever
she wants regardless of your wishes. So unless you want to be sorely
disappointed like your monster in law was when Daniel told her to stuff it,
you'll wait until they tell you."
"You're right I know but these kids take so long to do
everything and weddings take a lot of planning. Oh I know, I can get started on
the guest list; this waiting is gonna drive me crazy. Do you think they'll at
least let me choose the flowers?"
"Oh stop feeling sorry for yourself El, it's not going to be
that bad our Kat's a sweetheart, just wait until you're asked that’s all, and
if the girl doesn't want peach roses don't get your feelings hurt just let her
have whatever she wants."
"I know that I already said that; I'm just so jazzed you know
with the whole ring thing but I'll be good I promise; oh my I
