she could easily lose herself in their depths. This man was more than any she had ever met.
She ran her hand up his bare chest. “Just remembering the naughty things we did a few hours ago. It was pretty awesome, if you want to know the truth. Can we do it again, Sir?”
Cam chuckled and sat up to tend the fire which had burned low while they slept.
“Go easy on me, little sub. I’m older than you, you know.”
Noelle eyed his already-hard and straining cock. He had more control and stamina than most men she knew or heard about. By rights he should be sprawled out on the floor, snoring until morning.
“You don’t act older than me. In fact, I’m not sure I believe you about being forty-nine. Are you sure?”
“Positive. Aren’t you turning thirty in a few weeks? We’ll have to have a birthday party.”
Noelle pushed at his shoulder playfully. “Doesn’t the big, bad Dom know not to remind a lady of her age? I could be frightfully sensitive about it.”
She laughed out loud as his expression turned to dismay.
“Hey, it’s okay. I was just teasing you. I’m not sensitive about it at all. Age is just a number.”
Cam shook his head, but still didn’t look relieved. “Are you sure? Shit, I didn’t even think. Thirty seems pretty young to me, that’s all. I’m going to be fifty in six months if you want to tease me about it.”
Noelle snuggled into the cushions and blankets. “You don’t seem too concerned about it. It doesn’t bother you, does it?”
“It didn’t until I met an amber-eyed, red-haired sub who drives me crazy and is twenty years younger than me. You looked at me like I was a senior citizen when you found out I was Brody’s dad.”
Noelle felt a warmth build somewhere in the vicinity of her heart. He was actually concerned about whether she thought he was old.
“I don’t care about your age. I was just surprised. That’s all. Besides, my friends say I’m an old fart sometimes. I don’t like to go to clubs and bars. I work most of the time, since I run my own business. My idea of a wild night is dinner and a movie with my friends. I’ve been on my own since I was eighteen. I think I’m pretty mature for my age.”
Cam gave her a long look. “Eighteen is pretty young. Didn’t you go to college?”
Noelle’s lips twisted in a grimace. This was a tough subject. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to tell him. It was just that no one came out of this story looking too good.
“I did. Art school. My parents were not happy about it. In fact, they were furious. I had done well in high school and won a scholarship to a small, private college in southern Florida that they approved of and wanted me to attend. They hoped I would become a lawyer. I’m not sure why as both my parents are teachers. They just have this thing about me being an attorney. But, I had entered an art contest. They didn’t know about it. I won and also received a scholarship to an art school in New York. They were furious.”
Noelle paused. It was still a painful story to tell.
“Listen, I wasn’t the easiest child to raise. As you may have noticed, I’m a little impetuous and stubborn. My grandmother said I had a zest for life. My parents called me a hellion. There wasn’t anything I didn’t think I could do, and I drove my poor parents crazy proving them wrong on practically a daily basis.”
Cam gave her a shrewd look. “Were they wrong?”
Noelle stared up at the ceiling. “Yes, a lot of the time. They wanted a quiet, well-behaved daughter like Abby. She always did what she was told. She didn’t sneak out of the house in the middle of the night to go cave exploring in the middle of Florida. She didn’t sign up for a chance to win a race car lesson. She didn’t go bungee jumping off a bridge. Boy, were they pissed about that. My parents say I made them old before their time.”
“It sounds like you do have a zest for life. You also sound like Caden. He wants to experience everything
