one night at her studio her phone began to ring. She thought it was odd since it was after her listed work hours, and any specific client would just call her on her cell.
“Hello?” Korrine answered.
“Hello, is this Korrine?” the voice asked.
“This is she. May I help you?” Korrine simply stated.
“Did you get my note, Korrine?” Immediately, Korrine’s heart began to beat with fear. “You never responded, and I see you still have that fucker hanging around. I told you that you needed higher standards. You need to take my advice.” The caller disconnected before Korrine could respond.
Korrine didn’t recognize the voice, and the number was unlisted. She shakily hung up the phone, and immediately called Tony. She was still shaking when he answered.
“Hey, sweetness, how’s it going?” Tony asked in a cheery voice.
“Hey, Tony…uh…can you come to my studio, please?” Korrine responded nervously.
“Baby, what’s wrong? Why do you sound like that?” Tony anxiously asked while grabbing his briefcase and keys, and heading out the door.
“I just received a phone call, and I’m scared,” Korrine explained with a tear falling from her eye. Korrine angrily wiped the tear away. She was scared, but she was also angry. Who in the hell thought they had the right to threaten her, and why?
Tony drove like a bat out of hell, making a twenty-minute drive in half the time. He slammed his car door and stormed into Korrine’s studio. He was furious. Who in the fuck had the audacity to threaten his woman? There would be hell to pay!
When he entered Korrine’s studio, she was visibly shaking and wringing her hands. She ran and nearly jumped into his arms, and that just made Tony even more irate. He had never seen his sweetness like this before. This shit was going to end quickly. Korrine gave him a passionate kiss, and he wrapped her in his arms.
“Baby, it’s okay. I’m here. No worries, okay?” Tony said in a soothing tone.
“I know, I’m just so…so….fuckin’ mad!” Korrine shouted.
Tony backed up and looked at Korrine with half shock and half pride on his face. He knew Korrine wasn’t a weak woman by any means, but he never expected her to be angry. “Sweetness, I thought you said you were afraid.”
“I am, but I’m also pissed! Why is someone trying to make my life complicated? I’m finally happy, my career is going great, my creative juices are flowing, and I’m having the best sex of my freakin’ life!” Korrine shouted as she paced back and forth.
Tony watched Korrine pace while ranting; he was both impressed and amused. He had never seen her this upset. It was really sexy, but there were more pressing matters to attend to.
Once Korrine calmed down, she called the detective she spoke to previously. She let him know about the call, but there really wasn’t anything they could do since the call wasn’t recorded and there wasn’t a number listed. The officer advised her to record all of her future calls so that she could have proof she was being harassed.
After they finished talking to the police, Tony pulled Korrine into another tight hug and kissed the top of her head. She sighed and accepted his strength, even though she had her own; it was always nice to have someone else to lean on. She’d been alone for so long that it was good to have someone to depend on, and she knew she could depend on Tony.
“So….let’s talk about the ‘best sex of your life’ statement you made earlier,” Tony said bringing Korrine out of her thoughts.
Korrine asked with a smirk, “When did I say that? I don’t remember saying that.”
“Oh yeah, sweetness. That’s exactly what you said. I’m superman, remember?” Tony teased, pointing to himself.
“What does you being superman have to do with what you think I said?” Korrine asked amused.
“Superpowers include memory, and I definitely remember you saying ‘best sex,’” Tony replied with a raised eyebrow.
“How can
