Standing near window side, with her
gaze reaching out to the darkened lawn, Sadhiya heaved a big sigh .
Bangles tinkled on her wrist. Silent moon laughed on the tragedy of
her situation. She was married! Married…seriously? She felt like
laughing on her situation. Well, what did she expected? Elder
princess Sadhiya of Sehar! The girl who never said no to anything!
Who always acted as a guide to her younger sister Shara and Noor.
The girl looked upon as an ideal daughter by every state’s monarch
was married to Sheikh Reyhan of Buktsar! It always came to this,
Sadhiya thought, as she stared down at her hands. Her habit of
saying No, to no one had landed her in this situation. She was
married against her wishes. She closed her eyes and lo, the image
of her best friend Asif surfaced in her mind. His shining eyes,
curly hair, laughing face! Had she got the courage to speak out her
mind, King would never ever get her married to someone without her
consent! There lies the problem isn’t it? She never raised a
question to her father’s order. For her, it was the final words
from the almighty’s mouth himself! But the worst case was yet to
come. When she had delivered the news to Asif, he had whooped in
joy, hugged her and had expressed his approval. “Aren’t you sad?”
she asked him and he gave her a confused glance, “Why will I,
Sadie?” making it clear that he never had any interest in her. She
was always his best friend, nothing else apart from that. But…she
was so sure of him, thought rolled in her mind. Reyhan, her
husband…at first, when his photo was given to her, all she had
looked was his eyes! Cold steel grey eyes! Broad shoulders, spikes
of hair touching the earlobes! The aura which spoke volumes of
power itself! Undoubtedly, if Asif had been placed next to him then
he appeared boy and not a man! Shiver went down her spine and she
pulled herself together. She was married now, that what matter’s
the most. Asif was her past and should be buried deep somewhere in
her conscious. Surprisingly to her, it proved to be really easy as
soon as the preparations began. It looked so natural for her.
Everything…sighing, she took a gulp of water from the nearby kept
glass. Henna patterns in her hand were designed so intricate that
design looked like her second skin.
It was her wedding night; she conceded
and looked towards clock which had struck twelve at midnight. Where
was Reyhan? She thought and looked around the large spacey room
which had a wall covered with his sole portrait. Finally, she was
going to lose her virginity to her husband! She will know what all
the fuss is about! She should feel shy as she was an innocent in
that area but, for some unspoken reason, she didn’t. A part of her
was coy but another was curious.
