the startled shout that built in her throat and leaned forward to look through the peephole as though there was any doubt who was on the other side.
Travis stood on her front stoop, one palm braced on the door jamb while the other slammed against her door. His head was bowed so Reily couldn’t see his expression, but from the way he repeatedly smacked her door, she had a feeling he was a little pissed.
Why? What did he have to be angry about? It’s not like she’d used him tonight. Made him feel as though no one in the world mattered but him, kissed him for all she was worth in an effort to sink his career as well as his image.
â€œGo home, Travis!” she called through the planks. “I’ll call you tomorrow.”
â€œI’m not leaving until you open this door!” he called back. “And if you thought the scene earlier tonight was bad, you haven’t seen anything yet.”
â€œYou wouldn’t dare!” Reily peeked through the peephole once again.
Travis’s head came up and he peered directly into the little glass bubble. “Try me.”
â€œDamn it,” Riley cursed under her breath. Her hand moved down to the deadbolt and she paused. Would Travis really jeopardize his position on the team just to prove a point? That one was a no brainer. She turned the lock and opened the door. “I told you, we’ll talk tomorrow.”
He barged right into the townhouse without preamble and took Reily in his arms. His mouth descended on hers, demanding, hungry, and so full of heat that she thought she might burst into flames.
â€œI want you so fucking bad, Reily,” Travis whispered against her mouth. He nipped at her bottom lip before flicking out with his tongue. “It’s all I’ve thought about all night. I want you naked. I want my mouth on you. I want to taste every inch of you.”
He kissed her again more deeply, thrusting his tongue into her mouth. Reily responded in kind and the wet slippery tangle caused a ribbon of heat to unfurl low in her belly. “Travis.” She pulled away, panting. “This can’t happen.”
â€œIt’s going to happen.” His husky tone made her clit throb. “Tell me you don’t want me. That you haven’t thought about it every day since we met.”
Denying it would be a lie. Of course she’d thought about it! Who wouldn’t? Travis was gorgeous, charismatic, and the sexiest man she’d ever met. “You’re just scratching an itch.” She didn’t think it would hurt so badly to say the words out loud. But she knew that Travis didn’t truly want anything other than a quick romp. Something to take the edge off while he was busy behaving himself.
â€œThat’s not an answer.” He kissed her again, before moving to the corner of her mouth, her jaw, and down the slim column of her throat. “Tell me to leave if you don’t want this, and I’ll go.”
His tongue grazed the delicate skin below her ear and Reily shuddered. God, she wanted him. More than she wanted to admit. Her entire life had been about control. Crossing every T and dotting every i. She’d never been in trouble. Never took a risk. Always the designated driver. Always the one who stood by and watched while her friends made rash decisions that somehow they never regretted. What would it hurt to give in this once? To allow herself to be the type of person who didn’t care about the consequences of her actions. There were no cameras here. No prying eyes. No wagging tongues. No Bob Spencer to answer to.
â€œI don’t want you to leave,” she breathed.
Travis smiled against her neck. “Thank God.”
He pulled away. Reily’s breath caught at the intensity of his bright hazel eyes. He reached up and plucked her glasses from her face. “Don’t like my glasses?” His comment about her being a librarian had stuck with her. “Too
