with the upcoming battle and the strategies that he could use to win.
The door from the hallway opened, revealing Sky’s gorgeous body wrapped in a silken robe. Aidan shivered and felt his body stir at the sight. Sky hesitated as if unsure of whether or not to enter his own room. Aidan beckoned him forward with a wave of his hand. Sky slid into bed before Aidan could blink. Cool vampire arms drew Aidan into the circle of his arms, and Sky kissed his temple.
“Thank you for staying with me,” Sky whispered. Aidan snuggled into his embrace, nipping his chest as he worked his way down.
“I am so tired of this distance between us, Sky. I want to feel you all night. I want to wake with you,” Aidan replied, his own voice tight with emotion he wasn’t ready to acknowledge yet. “Kiss me, vampire.” The command seemed to incite the big German noble because Sky wasted no time in doing just that. They kissed for endless moments. The silken slide of their tongues intoxicated Aidan, and the softness of Sky’s lips on his was enough to make him voice what had been circling through his blood since he’d gotten the balls up to acknowledge the pull between them.
“I belong to you,” Aidan promised between kisses. “Only you.” Sky growled in encouragement and began stripping off the few clothes they’d worn to bed. Soon they were both gloriously naked.
“Fuck me, vampire,” Aidan demanded as Sky kissed his way down his chest.
Sky chuckled. “In a minute, jäger. I want to savor you.”
They made love slowly. It was no longer the vicious coupling of before but the soft, sweet meeting of two bodies. Aidan gasped against the hard planes of Sky’s chest, nipping the heavy muscle there, and Sky pushed his cock into the deepest recesses of Aidan’s body. He wanted his vampire’s flesh in his mouth. He nipped harder, causing Sky to gasp.
“Take from me, jäger,” Sky encouraged. His voice was a soft growl of approval. He reached to the dresser and picked up the small pocket knife he had there before reaching up with one hand and slicing the flesh just above his heart. Aidan put his mouth to the wound and sucked. He wondered briefly if Sky felt as good now as Aidan did when the vampire did it to him. He laved the wound with his tongue.
“I love feeling you, Sky,” he whispered. It was on the tip of his tongue to say something else, but he knew it was just because of their lovemaking that he wanted to shout his love words to the rooftops. “I love your touch so much I hurt.”
Sky jerked and came hard, his hands bruising Aidan’s hips as he came undone. The guttural praises in German coupled with the sensation of the vampire’s pleasure splashing the inside of his passage had Aidan arching and crying out in answer. His eyes rolled into the back of his head as he orgasmed hard enough that he saw stars.
“Damn, love.” Sky chuckled. “I came hard.” He laughed again. “And a bit prematurely at that.”
Aidan nipped his chest once more. “I want you to feed on me, vampire.”
Sky smiled, looking like he was in heaven. “With pleasure.”

Aidan moved his king one space to the right as Andren contemplated the board. They were sitting in Sky’s massive library in front of the roaring fire. It had started to snow at some point during their sleeping hours, and it was decided right after breakfast that Andren and Lucian weren’t leaving for a bit. That was just fine with Aidan. He needed something to buffer the new level of closeness that he and Sky had achieved last night.
“Check,” Andren rumbled, moving his bishop so that it lined up with Aidan’s king. Aidan grumbled. Playing chess while one was half-distracted was not the best way to win against one’s opponent. He put his hand on the king and went to move it back into the position he had it in originally.
“Don’t do that,” Andren admonished. “I’ll checkmate you. Where is your head, brother? You’re a better player than
