age came racing up to them. âAgent Cougar?â he asked. âAgent Big Boss wants to see you immediately.â
Cougar nodded and the boy led him away.
A second later, a group of agents in green uniforms dashed past, almost bowling Zac over. They hopped onto a row of identical motorbikes and zoomed away up the entry tunnel.
âMedical team,â a voice behind him explained. âTheyâre heading over to get the people from the other two choppers.â
Zac looked around. It was his older brother, Leon.
âDonât worry, theyâre all fine,â Leon added. âJust a few little bumps and bruises.â
âGood,â said Zac, relaxing slightly.
âSo, who is he?â Leon asked. âWhoâs this mystery BIG agent whoâs going to wipe out all our gadgets?â
Zac still hadnât figured out how to answer this question. âHeâsâ¦I donât know who he is. But he looks exactly like me, like an identical twin or something.â
âSomeone in disguise, then,â said Leon thoughtfully.
âNo,â said Zac firmly. âIt was too perfect to be a disguise. It was like looking into a mirror.â
âSo thereâs another Zac Power out there,â Leon said slowly, âand heâs working for BIG. Is that what youâre saying?â
âI donât know what Iâm saying,â Zac sighed. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the little black device heâd found in the BIG agentâs jet in the jungle.
âWhatâs that?â Leon asked.
âA holo-projector,â said Zac. âItâs got something to do with Grandpa, but ââ
âGrandpa?â said Leon excitedly. âWhat is it? What does it say?â
âI donât know,â said Zac. âThe dataâs locked. It played for about 20 seconds and then it just cut out. But it sounds like BIG might know where Grandpa is.â
Leonâs jaw dropped. âHow?â he said. âGrandpaâs been missing for years! No-one knows where he is!â
Zac just shrugged.
âYouâve got to show the holo-projector to Agent Big Boss!â said Leon. âIf we can unlock this thing, maybe we can finally find out what happened to Grandpa!â
But at that moment the nervous boy reappeared. âAgent Rock Star, Agent Big Boss wants to see you,â he said.
âRight.â Zac nodded, turning to leave.
âHang on,â said Leon. âWhatâs that around your neck?â
âHuh? Oh, this thing. I donât know. It belonged to the BIG agent.â
Zac handed Leon the little computer chip that the BIG agent had dropped.
âIâd better go see Big Boss,â Zac said. âSee you at home.â
âBye,â said Leon, examining the chip.
Zac took the lift down to Agent Big Bossâs floor.
As soon as the lift doors opened, a swarm of security agents surrounded Zac, pressing him back against a cold steel wall. For two full minutes, he was poked, prodded and scanned from every angle.
âSorry about that,â said Agent Big Boss as the guards finally let him pass. âWe needed to be absolutely sure that you were the real Agent Rock Star, and not the BIG look-alike.â
âItâs OK,â said Zac.
âAnd congratulations on rescuing our captured agents,â Big Boss added.
âThanks,â said Zac, âbut I was only able to rescue five of them. Their team leader was kidnapped. Weâre going to send out a search team, right?â
âIâm afraid weâve got no time to chase after missing agents right now,â said Agent Big Boss, suddenly sounding grumpy.
Zac was surprised. But wasnât that what my mission was for? he thought to himself.
âLetâs move on,â Agent Big Boss grumbled. âThereâs a meeting in my office this afternoon to discuss the next phase of your mission. I want you there at 3:30pm
